I realised the whole crew is like my family now. One crazy family, but the person that I feel like that has been there as my sister watching over me is maita. She acts like a big sister. She always bosses me around telling me when to go to bed, do my chores, and eat healthier. I can't wait today is her birthday and I have a big surprise for her.
"(f/n), can you help?" Maita asked trying to stuff her clothes back into her suitcase. "where are you going?" I asked jumping off the upper dock holding a surprise in the room behind."I've decided to travel the world" she said smiling and then continued "But to do that I'm gonna leave the crew." she said her smile turning into a frown."What?!" I asked shocked and stopped what I was doing."I know you guys in a way are traveling the world, but I want to visit each individual island and its people." she said finishing up packing the last clothes and forcing the suitcase shut. "So I guess this is goodbye" "does everyone else know?" I asked frozen rejecting to hug her. She lowered her arms."I'm only planning to say bye to you." "why? what about the others?" I asked as she looked away gazing upon the ocean."I only really talk to you and sometimes luffy. But I really only know you. If I say bye to them it will be like hugging a stranger. Plus I was never cut out to be a pirate." "Don't say that and please stay!MAITA IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY!!" I said hugging her, "I'm sorry (f/n), but this is goodbye. This is what I want for my birthday." and with that she vanished.
As I fell to my knees I started to cry."maita" I whispered as I felt arms wrap around me. I looked up and saw luffy."Why are you crying? you know I hate seeing you upset." he said brushing my tears away."Maita *sniff* left *sniff* to *sniff* travel *sniff* the world." I said breaking into tears again. Just thinking or mentioning her made me want to cry."What?!" he said shocked.
After I calmed down I gathered the crew and told them what happened and why she left without telling them goodbye. When everyone was chatting about what I just told them I walked into the kitchen and started to take down all the colorful party decorations."I guess in the end everyone leaves. Especially the ones you love most leave the quickest" I whispered."not everyone leaves though. I will never leave you" I turn as luffy pulled me into a hug.
"I will never leave you" those words stuck to me and I never want those words to leave or turn into a lie.
