The nurse came in with Lisa's breakfast. Lisa had gotten about as much sleep as Jennie had. "How are you feeling?"

"Like I just woke up from a six year nap." Lisa tried to joke.

The nurse smiled at her.

"She's been out there all night you know."

Lisa was surprised, she had thought Jennie left when she heard her stop crying.

"You should talk to her. She cares about you a lot. She's never missed a single week of visiting you, it's usually at least twice a week that she comes. It would probably be way more if she didn't have to work. It's funny actually, she's here so much that we eventually all agreed to let her use the nurses break room. She's there right now actually. I had to force her to go lay on the couch when I found her almost passed out on the floor in the hallway. She's a stubborn one."

Lisa almost smiled. Jennie was the most infuriatingly stubborn person she had ever met. She was also a little shocked to hear that Jennie had visited her every week. She had known Jennie must have been taking care of her to some capacity since neither of them had their parents anymore but she didn't realize Jennie would come visit her so often. Not for this long. Not for six years. Not when she was married already.

Her nurse broke her from her thoughts and continued talking as she kept checking Lisa's vitals, "that daughter of hers must be pretty stubborn too. She's usually running down the halls wreaking havoc or blasting music in here. She's very feisty for a six year old." The nurse chuckled.

Lisa actually smiled this time at the mention of her daughter. She had missed so much time with her. She had so many plans for their baby and it was stolen from her. As much as she couldn't bear the thought of seeing Jennie with someone else, she wanted a relationship with their kid. She wasn't sure if she had any right anymore. Biologically, she was technically Jennie's only and Jennie was someone else's now so Lisa had no legal rights to the daughter she had been expecting but she had to try.

"Yong-sun, could you do me a favor?"

"Sure honey," the nurse said.

"Can you ask Jennie to come. I would but you know, can't walk yet," she half heartedly laughed.

"Of course, I'll send her in as soon as I finish with your I.V."

———-
Yong-sun found Jennie sprawled across the break room couch, it looked like she had finally fallen asleep. She hated to wake her up but she had gotten to know Jennie over the years and she knew Lisa was more important to her than sleep.

"Jennie honey." Yongsun said gently and she watched as Jennie finally stirred, "Lisa wants to see you."

Jennie sat up so fast it made her dizzy, "she does?"

"Yes I just came from her room and she asked me to tell you."

"Thank you Yong-Sun, I— I'll see you later, say hi to your wife for me." Jennie fled the room as fast as she could.

Jennie found herself outside of Lisa's hospital room yet again, nervous and cursing herself for not taking the time to fix her appearance in her haste to get there. She wondered if she still had time to do so when she heard Lisa call out.

"Jennie I know you're out there just come in already."

Jennie didn't even have the time to marvel at the fact that Lisa had somehow felt her presence, startled, she decided to bite the bullet and just walk in. It took everything in her to not run and pull Lisa in another bone crushing hug, she still couldn't believe she was awake.
