A/N Double update since I took so long? 😅

———————————————

"She's not going to be in your grade but make sure you help her okay?" Jennie asked her daughter.

"Of course mommy. I like her. She's super cool." Ella said happily.

Jennie was on her way to pick up Rosie and Soo-in, they were going to enroll her in the same school Ella went to.

Soo-in was worried. She'd never been to public school. They homeschooled everyone at the orphanage.

Rosie noticed her apprehension.

"Hey, everything is going to be okay."

"What if I mess up?" Soo-in knew she had a habit of getting into trouble.

"Then you mess up." Rosie shrugged, "then you come home and we talk about it and we figure out how to make sure you can do just a little better next time."

Soo-in smiled gratefully. That was why she had always loved Miss Rosie. She never got mad at her. She always listened to her side and gave her advice. Everyone else just assumed she was bad and punished her. Sometimes she was bad, but sometimes it wasn't her fault. Miss Rosie would always be the one to get her out of trouble at the orphanage by giving her a chance to explain.

"Hi Soo-in!" Ella immediately hugged her when she got into the car and it took Soo-in by surprise.

"Hey Ella." She answered a little nervously.

When they got to her new school Ella dragged her by the hand showing her all around the classrooms while her mommy and Miss Rosie talked to the principal.

"Oh! This is my best friend Woo-Jin!"

The little boy smiled at them both.

"Woo-Jin, this is my aunties' daughter, Soo-in! She's our new best friend!" Ella declared.

The little boy stuck his hand out to shake Soo-in's and she returned it. Soo-in felt kind of happy at the thought of having friends.

————————

They didn't have any classes together because Ella was younger so Soo-in had kept to herself the whole day, avoiding everyone. They did have recess together and Soo-in was kind of grateful that Ella found her immediately because she really didn't know what to do during these things.

"Come on! Let's go to the swings so we can swing and then jump off! It's almost like flying!" Ella exclaimed.

Soo-in found herself being dragged by Ella again.

Ella stopped abruptly when she saw some bigger kid pushing her friend Woo-Jin around.

Ella let go of Soo-in and marched up to them with an angry look and narrowed eyes as she crossed her arms, stopping in front of them.

"What do you think you're doing," Ella asked the kid menacingly.

"None of your business kid." The older boy shoved Woo-Jin to the ground.

"You're gonna pay for that!" Ella started stomping up to the kid looking beyond angry now, intent on hurting him for pushing her best friend.

Soo-in knew what was happening. It happened at the orphanage all the time. She didn't want Ella to get in trouble though. She ran as fast as she could to beat Ella to the bully, and shoved him to the ground hard. Then she punched him in the face for good measure before Ella could get to him.
