The hydra came running towards me, as usual, I dodged it. The Hydra was a bit harder to move away from since it was bigger. Percy took out a pen and it turned to a sword, he titled his sword and made the sun glare into the Hydras eyes. I stood in awe by the fact that a sword appeared out of a pen. Percy sliced one of the heads of the Hydra, now we were facing a 8-headed Hydra.

"Percy!" Annabeth scolded, "You just opened up another monster donut somewhere."

Percy rolled out of the way as a spray of acid came at him. "I'm about to die and your worried about that?"

"How do we kill this thing?" I asked diving under the Hydra and scraping my knife into its belly.  I got out on the other side, there was mud and dirt all over my overalls but that wasn't my biggest issue as of right now.

"Fire!" Annabeth yelled to us.

"Fire? Anyone got a lighter?" I yelled looking at both Percy and Annabeth, they shook their heads.

"No hurting my friends!" Tyson said ramming towards the Hydra. He put himself between Annabeth who was on the floor and the Hydra, he started pounding his fists at the Hydras heads.

I tried to get closer to stab it and wound it, but I was thrown about 5 feet away by one of the Hydras heads. I fell to the ground after getting thrown against a rock, I stayed on the ground for a bit. My head and my back hurt like someone had a knife from my head to my lower back and kept stabbing in and out. I felt like that every time I moved, after 30 seconds I could finally move without too much pain. I got up and ran over to my knife that fell out of my hand, for some reason it was burning to the touch.

I sprinted right at the Hydra, I dodged every acid spit, I thrusted myself up in the air and dug my knife from the top of the Hydras back to its left side. I landed on my feet and backed up a few feet to avoid getting thrown again. I forgot how much it hurts to not dodge a attack, but even the best trained people make mistakes.

This weird sound comes out of no where, I looked for the source but saw nothing. The sound got louder and louder.

"What's that noise?" I asked.

"A steam engine," Percy responded.

Why would a steam engine be here?  Then from the river behind us, a rough sounding female voice shouted: "There! Prepare the thirty-two-pounder!"

A spotty voice said, "Their too close m'lady!"

"Damn those hero's! Move straight ahead!" The female voice said.

"Yes ma'am!" The voice was different, it sounded like there were multiple people.

"Fire at will, Captain!"

It took me a second before I realized what was about to happen. I quickly sprinted as far as I could and dove behind some trees. I grabbed my knife I still had in hand tight. Not far behind, a earth shaking BOOM came from the river. Dust and gunpowder filled the air making me cough, I put my arm up to where it would cover my mouth and nose. My eyes were watery from all the dirt getting it them, I got out from behind the trees still covering my mouth and nose. I walked slowly over to everyone making sure there were no more monsters trying to kill us. I joined Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson and I looked out to the river wondering the source of the ciaos that cannon. Out on the river I saw a Civil War battle cruiser. I barely made out the name through all the dust, CSS Birmingham.

"Why is a Civil War battle cruiser here, that should be in a museum or something. Who is this stupid to bring one all the way out here to a river?" I said very annoyed.

"I have a feeling who," Annabeth said, she looked more annoyed then I did.

I adjusted my knife so I would be ready to attack, I saw the girl who standing on the CSS  Birmingham, she wearing full Greek battle armor.
