I woke up to the loud sound of the CSS Birmingham's engine. The engine sounded like it needed life support. I rolled to my side and stuff the other side of my pillow over my ears. I could still hear the engines ear-splitting noises, I rolled my eyes and sat up. My eyes were still halfway shut and my body was still tired.

I must of not gotten much sleep last night..

I looked around the room, Tyson and Annabeth were gone out of their beds. Percy, well he was still sleeping. I thought for a moment, when I looked at Percy it seemed like their was something missing or something I wasn't remembering. It hit me like a flying car. My face turned bright red as I faintly remember the hugs and my falling asleep on him. I got up out of the cot and found my backpack, still very flustered. I rummaged through and found my old shirt, it had blood and a hole through it from the gunshot. I decided to stay in my light purple shirt that I slept in. I got up and went to see Percy, I debated on waking him up since everyone else was awake. I saw him slightly drooling and I laughed. He was probably up late so I should let him sleep.

I walked out and up the stairs leading to the deck. I got upstairs and saw a dead confederate soldier at the wheel with a bunch of other ghosts. I directed my eyes to the front and saw Annabeth with Tyson. My eyes were sensitive to the bright morning light so I had to squint as I walked towards the front.

"Hey Y/N," Annabeth said.

"Hi." I nodded my head up gesturing a hello.

Tyson was very quiet and didn't talk much, he looked terrified. Whenever a ghost would pass up he would jump. Annabeth and I were getting along and talking about life.

"So how did you end up on Luke's boat?" She asked.

"I ran away," I said. Annabeth's eyes sunk, she seemed to be thinking about something.

"Yeah, I get that," She said snapping back to reality. "I ran away from Virginia, family issues."

"Same," I said with a sigh.

We both stared out to sea, leaning on the railing. We stood there for a while talking about our family issues, turns out we have a lot more in common then I expected. Eventually we were interrupted.

"Were approaching the Sea of Monsters!" The ghost captain yelled to everyone on deck.

I saw something in the distance that gave me an uneasy feeling.

"Could you go get Percy. We might need him for this," Annabeth asked me. Her voiced was filled with concern, she definitely knew something I didn't.

I walked off looking for Percy. I got to the stairs and all of a sudden I felt this burst of anger erupting in me. I felt so much over whelming anger I wanted to stab something or choke someone to death. I surprised myself with those thoughts and began to feel sick to my stomach. I continued to walk downstairs and tried to push the rising anger down. I saw Percy staring into the ventilation grate that follows to the boiler deck.  I raised one of my eyebrows and looked to Percy.

"P-" I didn't even get a word out before he push his hand over his lips telling me to be quiet.

I reluctantly agreed and walked over to see what he was looking at. I saw Clarisse talking to an image that shimmered from the steam of the boilers. A muscular man in black leather biker clothes, with a military haircut, red-tinted sunglasses, and a knife strapped to his side, seemed to be giving Clarisse a lecture.

"I don't want any excuses, little girl!" The man growled.

"Yes, y-yes fa-father!" Clarisse said trembling. I realized that this was Ares, the god of war. watching her tremble in front of him made me want to just hug her.
