As soon as Izana laid his eyes on (h/c)-haired girl, he was sure that it was his best friend from ten years ago. Izana couldn't help but stare at her. It's been a long time since the last time he saw her.

"Nothing changed...I guess nothing had changed." Izana mumbled under his breath before smiling earnestly. Izana chuckled in amusement when he noticed (y/n) spaced out in the middle of the ceremony.

"You've lost your sanity," Izana's face turned sour at the comment.

"No. I think it's you who lost your sanity, Kakucho Hitto," Izana shot back at his friend. The buzz-cut male laughed at his friend's retort. Looking how his friend's mood turned sour, he decided to annoy Izana even more—like a good friend he is.

"Got any evidence to support your claim?" Kakucho teased his friend. Izana's mood turned sour even more. He wanted to punch Kakucho straight to the face. However, knocking his friend straight to the face will bring trouble to both of them. Seeing how Izana shut up in defeat, a victorious smile plastered on Kakucho's face. Izana might win against him in physical fights but not in arguments.

Kakucho noticed that his friend was looking at someone from the front. He followed Izana's gaze to get a glimpse of who he was looking at. Kakucho's eyes widened when he saw (y/n) standing near the stage.

Kakucho is quite familiar with how Izana's childhood friend looks because of his stories. So, he knew right away that the (h/c)-haired lady near the stage was his friend's valuable person.

"Try approaching her later. You'll never know what happens next," Kakucho encouraged Izana before crossing his arms.

That very thought crossed Izana's mind. The problem is: he doesn't know how to approach (y/n). After almost ten years of not seeing each other, Izana doesn't know what kind of face he will present in front of (y/n). Izana knew very well that he cannot just walk towards her and say "Hi! I'm back".

Izana tuned out to the opening ceremony. Instead, he focused his attention solely on (y/n). He watched her as she fidgets her dainty fingers—signifying that she was thinking about something. Izana wanted to approach (y/n) and ask what was bothering her beautiful mind. He wanted to be by her side and listen to her never-ending stories.

However, he's too close yet too far from her.
