Y/N couldn't quite tell what was going on in the bridge. She was hidden just outside the doors, ready for Keith's signal to shut them. It wasn't that she doubt Keith in any way, but she was beginning to wonder if this plan was actually going to work. The girl had no background information for what happened here the first time. Who was to say shutting a door was going to stop what happened the first time?

Alarms started blaring, Y/N could hear from inside Coran shouting something about intruders stealing ships. Then, someone, it had to be Shiro, muttering incoherently and in discomfort. He was fighting something invisible.

"Shut the door!" Keith hollered as he ran out of the Bridge with Krolia and Pidge. He had to do what he had done before. Only Y/N could change this. "Now!"

Y/N did so, locking Shiro and the others inside of the bridge. From inside, things didn't sound good. There were loud bangs and yells until it was mostly silent. Y/N pressed her ear to the door and tried to listen in. It took everything inside of her not to open those doors right back up and help everyone inside.

She jumped back when the metal jut out right in front of her face. Shiro had punched nearly straight through the door.

"I know you're on the other side!" He screamed.

Y/N did what she could with the doors controls to keep them locked. But there wasn't anything more she could do. If Shiro got through...

Another massive dent. She had to stop Shiro here herself. Or, at least, hold him off long enough so the others could come up with a plan. What was Keith's plan anyways aside from having Y/N shut the doors? And what happened if she couldn't stop Shiro?

The door split open. Y/N threw herself behind the nearest corner and tried to catch her breath. With her heart crashing against her ribcage, she tried to evaluate her options. All she had were her own two hands. She was fast. She was strong. She could fight if she had to. But against Shiro, who seemed to be being mind controlled? She didn't like her chances. "Shit."

"You know...you know what happens." Shiro mumbled, dragging his feet across the floor.

This wasn't the same voice Y/N had heard earlier. This wasn't Shiro. This wasn't the man she knew back on earth. Sure, she hadn't known him all that well and she could only imagine how his time in space had changed him up until this point. But there was no denying that he wasn't in control of his own actions.

All she could try and do was talk, try to work her way out of this or buy some time. "Shiro," She stepped out from behind the corner. "You need to wake up."

He twitched. Then, he shook his head.

"Shiro." She said again, this time more firm. "You need to wake up!"

He grunted and put a hand on his head. For a moment, he looked up, eyes clear. "Y/N?"

The girl sighed in relief. "We need to get Lotor to a secure place, okay?"

That fleeting feeling of hope left Y/N when Shiro's eyes went dark again. She didn't even have time to react to his sudden shift. He kicked out with all of his force, knocking Y/N down to the floor. Her vision was fading in and out.

She forced herself up, despite being winded and not knowing when her breath would come back. She tried to say his name again but nothing came. In pure desperation, she tried stumbling down the hall but doubt she'd make it far without any air coming back into her lungs.

Unfortunately, she was right. Her body refused to carry her, unable to breathe, and she crashed back down. This time, when her vision fade out, it didn't come back.
