Falling Leaves

Like fallen leaves we float down,

The things we would do to protect the crown

Family trees full of comrades and soldiers,

Their lives spent serving the more than deserving

Lead astray were they not,

For these hearts of gold were ready to rebound tenfold

Or so was thought.

Bitter bites of wind that blew through winter left every leaf with thorns and splinters

Those who fell were cherished dearly,

By the ones who survived the never ending clearing

The clearing of bodies and leaves,

Sold away with the burning winds heaves

The vengeful winds of an army of fires left the trees burning,

Crumpling under the scornful and blazing sun.

Leaves falling down all around,

The kingdom that was once ours is now deep beneath the ground.
