Beginning of the Story

Long ago, the world was full of wonder. It was adventurous, exciting, and best of all there was magic. And that magic helped all in need, but it wasn't easy to master, so the world found a simpler way to get by. Over time, magic faded away. But I hope there's a little magic left in you.

That was a story that my father told me many times. But for as long as I've remembered, that's not how my story began. At least not where I came from. There was a time not too long ago where there was once a race that was frowned upon by all the other creatures. Frowned upon by their fur, their claws, their teeth, their tails, and their pointy ears. Basically frowned upon because they were different from everyone one else in the world. These people were called werewolves. They never wanted to be at war, but because of everyone else, they had to hide on the far distant side of the world. That's pretty much how it's been since their ancestors. They've tried to live in peace and harmony, but one day, a war came to them. A war brought out of hatred from the other people who didn't want us as a part of their culture. Alarms rang, signifying their attack on the people. The villagers ran, taking their children. They attacked the village with grenades and guns in hand, and knives in their teeth. They drove in loud on their jeeps, like loud monsters coming out of their caves, roaring through the streets to take the children. The grenades that they threw destroyed the homes. Not many survived, others were kidnaped. After the smoke cleared, the village was nothing left but a ruin. I was the only one who survived. The one who was hidden into safety out of love from his parents. My name is Wilbur. I'm the last one of my kind. An orphan. All of a sudden, a man came up to me out the smoke. He wore a uniform. He had blue skin, pointy ears, a big nose and blue, close trimmed hair. At first I thought he was one of the enemies, so I hid. But he heard me and started coming closer.

Man's P.O.V.

After the general heard about the natives attacking the village, he wanted us to check it out to see if there were any survivors. Unfortunately, there weren't. I heard a noise. The smoke cleared and I saw a dirty, toddler werewolf in ragged clothes. His tail wrapped around himself comforting himself. I went up to help him.

"Hey".

He got scared and shifted back.

"No, no. It's okay. It's okay. I won't hurt you."

I shifted down to his level to seem less threatening. I held out my hand.

He looked at me with big eyes. He sniffed my hand then grabbed my hand with his little clawed hands and let me pet his furry head.

"See, I mean no harm."

He looked at me with a smile.

"Come on. Let's get out of here. It's not safe.
