Ian was at a Burgershire, waiting for his breakfast when another elf dad saw his sweatshirt and exclaimed

"Hey. Go Griffins."

This confused Ian.

Ian: What?

"You go to Wilowdale College?"

Ian got on to what he was saying and chuckled.

Ian: Oh, no. This was my dad's.

The guy saw the name on his sweatshirt and his face lit up.

"Lightfoot? Wilden Lightfoot?"

Ian: Yeah.

"You're kidding. I went to college with him."

Ian: Really?

"Yeah."

Then his face switched to one of remorse.

"Boy. I was so sorry to hear that he passed away."

Ian: Yeah. Thanks.

"You know. Your dad was a great guy. So confident. When he came into a room, people noticed. The man wore the ugliest purple socks every single day."

Ian: What? Why?

"Hey, that's exactly what we asked. But he was just bold. I always wished I had a little bit of that in me."

Ian: Yeah. Wow. I've never heard any of this about him before. What else do you remember?"

"Dad!"

Another young elf came up to the father holding his breakfast.

"Oh, sorry. Gotta get this guy off to school. Hey, it was nice meeting you."

Ian: Yeah, you too.

Ian shook his hand.

Ian looked down at his last name and wondered.

Ian: Bold.

Meanwhile, I was practicing guitar. I'd already fixed up my motorcycle.

Then I heard something or someone rummaging through the house. I looked around and noticed Barley getting his viking costume on.

Wilbur: Barley, what are you doing?

Barley looked at me.

Barley: Look, we're heading up to the school to help out Ian.

Wilbur: What? I thought we talked about this.

Barley: Look, y'know how Ian is. I'm just trying to help him.

Wilbur: Barley. This is a bad idea. We're not doing this.

10 minutes later

Wilbur: I can't believe we're actually doing this.

We were on our way to school in Guinevere and Barley with his costume on.

Wilbur: Barley, this is a bad idea.

Barley: No, it's not. This will help him out.

Wilbur: You sure this won't embarrass him?

Barley: Of course not.

We pulled up to the school, and we saw Ian in front of a group of school students. I could tell he wasn't happy about us showing up. Barley rolled down the window and bellowed.

Barley: Is that the birthday boy I see?!

Wilbur: Barley, both hands on the wheel!

Barley: Sorry.
