Third Person's POV

Today was finally the day. The day he was going to surprise the kid with a new suit and a day at Disneyland.

The two tickets almost seemed to mock him as they laid on the kitchen table, the date AUGUST 10 2018 in bold black letters.

His heart shattered as he remembered the young interns' last words. An immediate plague of self loathing began to overwhelm him, a mindset he wasn't able to overcome after the snap.

'The kid was supposed to turn 17 this year'

Biting his lip harshly, he couldn't help but welcome the sharp pain that immediately appeared afterwards.

However, the loud noise of the afternoon news interrupted any further thoughts.

"Hello and welcome to Chanel 7 news. This is Julie O'Hara with the latest update US officials have provided on, what locals have started calling, the 'Blip'. According to Jaime Stewart, Secretary of Homeland Security, researchers are finally heading towards a final conclusion. According to research, about half of the world's population has disappeared, leaving many confused and frightened about what's to come. The main question on everyone's mind is 'Will they come back?' and even I, and our news cast, can't help but  wonder the same. However, the world must go on. But this doesn't mean we have to forget. Channel 7 is dedicated to remembering our disappeared community and have to decided to call out the names of the disappeared on their birthdays'. This way, we can still celebrate their life and, maybe, life to come."

Immediately, tears threatened to fall and Tony couldn't help but hold in a broken sob.

Everything seemed unreal but the pain in his chest proved otherwise.

However, the world seemed to stop as he heard a familiar name.

"Peter Benjamin Parker from Queens" (who?)

Then, everything went to hell.

Strange's POV

'It happened'

Letting a breath of relief, I couldn't help but smile bitterly into the lonely space.

There were 14,000,605 different futures, but in all of them, I was apart of the disappeared.

Letting out a frustrated sigh, I decided to walk around the seemingly empty space.

'Now that I don't have the Time stone, I can't look more throughly into the futures. Maybe there's another way. Another way so that he doesn't have to die'

With that thought in mind, I continued to mindlessly walk around.

Not feeling anyone's presence, I decided to speak my thoughts out loud, the silence becoming too unnerving, "Damn, I said I wasn't going to save that sarcastic CEO and his ward. Aw shi-"

Before I could continue my long list of prepared curse words, a figure almost ran right into me.

"Doctor Strange!!"

Recognizing the squeaky voice, ugh puberty, my eyes widened a bit as I saw Stark's ward begin to cry.

"I-I thought I was alone! It felt like I was walking for hours and I couldn't feel or sense anyone nearby."

My heart clenched a bit as I saw the absolute fear obvious on his face.

Clearing my throat, I gave him an awkward smile, "Well I'm here and I don't really have any plans to go anywhere. How about we stick together? For survival reasons of course."

Those words seemed to crush any lingering fear as he smiled brightly, "Okay Mr. Doctor Strange!"

"Just Strange is fine"

"Got it Mr. Strange!"

Letting out a tired sigh, I accepted the new title from the ward before walking forward.

I could hear footsteps behind me, reminding me someone else was here with me, before the comfortable silence was disturbed by a bright voice, "So, Mr. Strange, can you shoot fire out of your yellow sparkly thing or is it only for transportation? How do you wash your cape? Like do you give it a bath or just throw it in the washing machine? I feel like a bath would be better, cause duh bubble bath. But like what if laundry detergent is better for the cloth? Oh! Have you ever tried Tide?! It works wonders, I swear. Not sponsored by Tide though, I just think the product is great. Oh and that reminds me, don't use Gain. See one time me and Ned accidentally got red paint all over us, it's wasn't blood don't worry, and it was such a pain to take it off. Gain didn't help at all, it did such a crappy job, but Tide, wow it did won-"

"Kid, how long are you gonna continue talking about laundry detergent?! Besides, don't most 16 year olds hate doing laundry?"

"First of all, I'm 17 years old. Second of all, its never too early to start learning the fundamentals of the adult life. I'm going to be 18 in a year, so I gotta learn the basics if I'm going to be living on my own!"

Giving the kid a questioning look, I couldn't help but ask, "17? I could've sworn Stark said you were 16."

"Well I was, I turn 17 today" he claimed proudly.

Immediately, I stopped mid step.

Giving me a worried look, the kid began to ask, "You oka-"

"It's your birthday?"

His eyes went wide in surprise before giving me a bright smile, "Yup!"

It stayed silent for a moment before the kid titled his head in confused, "What's wrong Mr. Strange?"

Words were caught up in my throat, not allowing me to answer.

It took a few more tries before I managed to let out the two words I felt were almost impossible to say, "Happy Birthday."

It took the kid a minute to respond before a small but sad smile appeared on his face as he whispered, "Thank you."

Neither of us said a word as different thoughts drifted in our heads.

Both led to solid conclusions though.

'I'm 100% going to get him a present'
'I'm 100% going to get him a bottle of Tide for his birthday'
