"Rose? Are you okay? You spaced out." Tadashi waves his hand in front of my face, trying to get my attention, concerned.

"Huh?! Oh, sorry." that was just my imagination? My face heats up from the embarassment I'm currently feeling.

"Your face is all red, did you catch something?" he places his palm on my forehead.

"I'm fine, I just suddenly remembered a lewd scene I saw on the tv last night." that's a lie.

It seems Tadashi believed it though because he drops the subject while blushing madly, and instead telling me about the project Hiro is working on for the student showcase while we make our way outside to the gardens.

Of course leaving out the major details, as to keep it a surprise for the actual event.

We walk towards my favourite place on the campus, a small hill at the edge of the borders, with an old tree growing in the middle. It might sound a bit cliché from all those mangas and animes, but it is a pretty tree. And since it's at the edge of the campus, it is also super peaceful.

Sometimes I go there just to take a nap in the grass, under the warmth of the summer sun and the coolness of the shadows the old, gorgeous, weeping cherry tree makes on the ground.

My favourite days are those when there's also a soft wind, swaying the branches. Especially in the late spring when the flowers are blooming and the tree is just a mass of pink, reminding us of the beauty the nature holds.

Now though, the tree is already full of green leaves, gently swaying in the wind as we walk closer. Always just as mesmerized by the cherry tree and the few, beautiful flowers surrounding it, I almost do not notice the blanket layed onto the greenest grass on the whole campus. Or maybe I just like to think it is the greenest.

"Picnic?" I chuckle at the idea, finding it really cute.

"Like you said earlier, the weather is nice today so I thought, why not?" he puts down the basket he was carrying this whole time and starts taking out whatever he had packed, mainly sandwiches and drinks. How did I not see that before? Lastly he takes out some strawberries, making me giggle.

"Almost feels like this is a date~." I tease him, feeling a bit brave. But mostly just to see his reaction.

Just like I thought, his face turns a light shade of red and he starts stumbling over his words.

Well now I feel bad.

"Don't worry Tadashi, I'm just messing with you." still having the teasing tone in my voice.

"Oh. Yeah, of course, I knew that." he laughs nervously, most likely glad I was just joking.

After that we started eating and chatting about anything and everything. And just generally having a good time.

"This sandwich is absolutely amazing!" I moan in pleasure, the bread is just so good.

"Yes... Yes! I made them, well actually I didn't, aunt Cass did, but I helped her! So in a way I did make them, but also I didn't." why is he rambling?

"In that case, you have to help her some other time as well! These are good! Which reminds me, the student showcase is next weekend, you think Hiro will be ready by then?"

"I'm sure. He's almost done actually, he's now working on how he will present his idea."

"I can't wait. I know his presentation will be a success."

The lunch hour goes by fast as we talk and soon we are already walking back to our building. Saying our goodbyes we both get into our own rooms and I get back to work on my project. I was so close earlier!
