A school assembly.Just wonderful.
Ava sat on the bleachers of the huge football field. It was packed. She hated unnecessary loud noises. It was no game playing but they still cheered and yelled. Staff and faculty announced upcoming events.
"Welcome East Bridge students! I see alot of fresh new faces this year. Im the dean for freshmans Mr.Kim. If you have any problems feel free to stop by my office." He made his speech short and simple.
"I wish everyone else's was that short." Ava said.
"Just bare with it a little while longer then we can go grab food." Jimin said. He sat next to her. She hadn't heard One so she just assumed he was somewhere else in the crowded bleachers. Her and jimin sat at the very bottom.
After the schools mascot came out and the band played music.
As it was coming to an end Jimin and ava got up so they could leave first. He walked with her to his car.
As she got in her phone rang.
"Hello?" She says answering it.
"Hey sweetheart. How's everything going? Im sorry I haven't really been in contact. Your father is in the hospital right now. "
It was her mother.
"Is he okay? What happened?" Jimin looked at her a little worried when she said it. He pulled out of the parking lot.
"Nothing too serious. Just wasn't feeling too well. They're gonna discharge him tomorrow. Dont worry baby, i didn't tell you because i didn't want you to worry. You just started school mija."
Ava found out her father had cancer three years ago. He was living with it for a while and hiding it from her. Her parents didn't like to worry her. They just wanted there daughter to live a happy stress free life.
"It would be nice if you guys just told me things.." she said quietly. She was upset.
"Are you with jimin right now?"
She put the phone on speaker.
"Its mom." She said to him.
"Hey ma." He said loud enough so she could hear.
"Ava take me off speaker and give the phone to him."
She rolled her eyes and did as told.
Jimin and her mother talked for the next couple minutes.
"Okay. Yes ma'am i will." With that he hung up.
"Whatd she say?" Ava asks.
"Cant tell you. But she said she loves you."
"Im always getting treated like a kid." She crosses her arms over her chest.
"They-we just care about you."
Ava didn't really feel like arguing so she didn't say anything else the car ride.
Jimin pulled up to the restaurant. Before he even turned off the car he saw a few classmates and some friends already eating inside.
"You wanna just do takeout?" He asked.
"Lets just eat here. Im starving." She takes off her seatbelt and gets out the car.
"Fuck." Jimin puts his head to the steering wheel closing his eyes.
"Come on im hungryyy." Ava whines from outside the car.
