Chapter 6: (Loki's Regret)
"You have to be kidding me, are you seriously planning on doing this!?" A voice boomed throughout the Denatus, to say this person was mad was an understatement. His fist had crashed down onto the marble table as he glared daggers at the two goddesses across from him. "A deal is a deal~" With a seductive lure in her voice Freya chuckled into her hand.
"You lost against the Dragon that was lured down by your powers, now you must sacrifice all that you had built." With a sly smirk, Freya took control of the situation and finished signing the paper in front of her before sliding it to the King of Olympus. "You've always been a fox, Freya... I only did those quests because you asked it of me."
Zeus had a vein popping on his forehead as he continued, "You were the one who said we needed to make this a world where the Gods would no longer need to interfere, where we would no longer fear the children killing each other, a world where we could live the lives we all desired!"
Thunder crackled outside of Babel coincidentally, though no one else knew and thought they had truly angered the King of Olympus. "Now you go and say that my wife and I are to be exiled for attempting to do something we didn't even have to do? WE TOOK ON YOURS AND LOKI'S SELFISH REQUEST!" As the rain continued to hit the windows of Babel every god at the table either looked away in fear or guilt.
"Let's go, Zeus..." Hera grabbed her Husbands arm and they left, Freya smiling at their disappearing figures while Loki was one of the ones who looked away in guilt. 'You know you can't regret it... Not now, you have to do your job now. You have to become the strongest.' That was the deal she had made with Freya, get rid of the strongest, to become the strongest.
Of course, she would need to fight against Freya to get to the top, but compared to Zeus and Hera who both had Level 7's and previously up to level 9's. This was the better choice for her if she truly wanted to be the queen of Orario. 'Though it'd be rather easy for her to simply charm her way to the top.'
She was still in an uphill battle, however, now instead of three peaks, she only needed to climb one. 'Still...' After the Denatus when she saw the way the remnants of Zeus and his Familia looked, damaged, hungry, and outright distraught. She remembered how her familia had been when it was just her and Finn.
After that day, while she wouldn't admit it, a part of her wished she hadn't voted them out, after all, the Dungeon only bares its fangs when you think you're safe. And when you're finally sitting at your throne, that is when a King or Queen is the most vulnerable.
- The Day After Bell's Rescue
"What's on your mind Kiddo, I can tell you've been wanting to ask me something." Loki was sitting on a sofa facing opposite of Bell who looked like a frail boy. The way he caved his shoulders in made him look a lot smaller than he was, it was odd.
'I-I know I thought I had an idea...' But now that he was actually sitting in front of her, he didn't know what to think. "L-Loki..." His brows furrowed as he balled up his fists and formulated his words. "Just take your time kiddo, you don't need to force yourself." Bell nodded as he slightly relaxed and blood began to flow back into his hands.
His breathing was shaky, 'Just what is it that's making him act like that, what did they do to him?' Bell and Loki sat in silence for about 5 minutes, all of those 5 minutes were agonizing for both of them, Loki grew worried about Bell's mental state. While Bell worried about what Loki could possibly say.
Finally, the tension broke. "A-Are you okay... After everything that happened this last week, that is..." Loki spoke with guilt and worry laced in her voice. She knew he was from Zeuss' familia so she knew that he had a hard life, even apart from the having been abandoned part, he most likely didn't know much parental love.
