Chapter 9: (Revelations)

- 1 Year Later

"Bell, don't you think it's about time that you go ahead and level up?" Loki looked at the boy who had recently turned 9 years of age. "Maybe..." He said simply that and continued his training, he had recently taken up knives and short blades trying to increase his versatility.

However, he thought that it was finally time to level up, not because he couldn't earlier, he was still growing faster than most, because of the ichor in his bloodstream. However, without the increased Excelia he was only improving at a slightly better rate.

He sighed and stopped swinging. "Could we do it here, quickly?" Loki looked around and sighed, "Sure, Bell."

A lot has changed in the last year. Bell often disappeared on his own at night to go either dungeon diving or who knows what else, he seemed to already be acquainted with the staff for the Benevolent Mistress as well. Something which irked Loki, who knew where Mia Grand came from.

Whenever she had asked how he knew, he just said that he received free meals from a girl who worked there named Syr Flover. Loki could sense that there was more than simple meals, there was no way someone received free meals from someone for no reason. Not only that, but he didn't only show up there for breakfast.

He would show up for dinner and already be talking with that Syr girl and another Elf. Loki's familia loved to go and celebrate at the Benevolent Mistress, so multiple times different members of the familia had caught him red-handed. Even Ais had caught him, it's obvious that the girl didn't understand why he was able to smile like that so easily.

With the rest of them, he could hardly muster to keep up a conversation, however, as she watched his back this last year, the girl had slowly begun to feel attracted to him. Not just because of his growth and abilities, nor only because of the godly blood flowing through him. Rather, she was starting to see him as someone of the opposite sex.

It was perplexing to her, Loki had jokingly mentioned how the girl was developing a crush, but when the Goddess realized that she truly was falling for him. It caused her pain, she didn't want to think about what would happen if they happened to end up on the opposite ends of the ring. Would the girl be able to fight Bell?

Bell, of course, wouldn't want to fight her, that was the whole reason that he wanted to get stronger. So that he could escape having to fight one of the people who didn't wish for his death. He had really stopped talking to everyone in his familia, it was kind of lonely for the boy.

No one around him knew when his birthday was, he never mentioned it after all, why would he? It was just a cruel reminder that he had been abandoned exactly one year ago on that date. It was far too sore of a subject. Every time it was brought up, Bell simply shrugged it off, saying he didn't care about his birthday.

Of course, Loki and Finn could catch on that he didn't seem to like his birthday, even Bete could understand it, however, there were others who were simply unable to understand it. Ais was one of those, who couldn't understand why he didn't care about knowing what age he was.

Loki sighed thinking about that once more, what should she do? Celebrate a fake birthday for the kid? See if he smiled? Or would it cause him to get angered because he didn't like something about birthdays? She finished updating his status and just told him his numbers since she didn't have paper on hand.
