Drake narrowed his eyes at Yesi, then turned to look at Mia. "You don't have to answer that. As a matter of fact, you shouldn't answer that."

"Just a simple question," Yesi said with a shrug. "The producers are telling me that we need to take another commercial break. When we come back, we will play another song from Drake's album, 6ix. The album is in stores now. Thank you for keeping it locked on Power 106!" She removed her headphones from her ears.

So did Drake. He slowly stood out of his seat, his eyes menacing. "You were specifically instructed not to ask questions about Trevor Riley."

"Was I?" She leisurely crossed one leg over the other. "I don't recall. Tim? John? Were you told that we couldn't ask questions about Trevor Riley?"

"Mia, we're out," he said without breaking eye contact with Yesi.

"I mean...you could walk out," Yesi said, inspecting her nails. "But then I would have to come up with my own theories as to why you both would do that, since all I did was ask a question."

    Drake shook his head.

"It's fine," Mia said quietly, still seated.

He looked down at her. "There is nothing fine about this."

She tugged at his hand, looking up at him. "I told you I got this. Right?"

His frown eased up a bit. He lowered into his chair, but his eyes shot daggers at Yesi.

Mia twisted around in her chair so she could face him. "You warned me about stuff like this," she told him. "It's okay."

"When Oliver hears that they asked you this shit, he's going to flip," he muttered, taking off his hat and putting it on backwards.

She stood out of her chair and sat on his lap. The kisses she gave him were chaste, but filled with love. "I think I'm going to conduct the rest of the interview on your lap. Can I do that?"

The intern gaped at the both of them.

"Yeah, I think I'm going to do that," Mia said, wrapping her arms around his neck. She glanced around the studio, daring someone to tell her otherwise. Seated on his lap, she could sense just how tense he was. "Hey...just think. In a few hours, we'll be in Los Angeles. Having fun. Enjoying ourselves. This will be in the past."

"You're a lot nicer than I am," he said as she pressed another kiss to his forehead. He smiled at her. The smile was brief; in a flash, it was gone. His arm slid around her waist to help keep her steady on his lap.

She continued talking to him, trying to get his mind off of Yesi's deliberate attempt at creating drama. I only have him to myself for today and tomorrow, she thought. These two days should be fun and enjoyable for him. I'm not going to let this chick mess that up for us.

"And we're back," Yesi said after putting her headphones back on. "The song you just heard was Soul Cry. That is the song Mia wrote. The song was written before you even met Drake, am I correct on that?"

"Yes you are," Mia confirmed into Drake's microphone, squirming on his lap.

"Very deep song. Sounds like it's about a relationship tug of war." Yesi leaned back in her chair. "Now...before we went to commercial break, I asked you about your date with Trevor."

    "Yes you did," Mia said.

"How did that go?" Yesi asked, smiling at her.

"As you can tell by whose lap I'm sitting on right now, the date didn't go so well," Mia chirped. "But...then again, you don't see me complaining."

Yesi pursed her lips. "There was news of altercations between Trevor and Drake. Were they fighting over you?"

Mia tossed her hair over her shoulder. "I'm kind of surprised you are still asking about this. Do you know how long ago that was? It's not even news anymore."

"The story hasn't really been talked about. That makes it relevant." Yesi's eyes were cold and unyielding as she rocked back and forth in her chair. "I'm just...giving you a chance to clear the air."

"My air is clear," Mia said. "The situation with Trevor is in the past. That is where I'd like to keep it."

"And the situation with Vanessa?" Yesi prodded. "Is that also in the past?"

    Mia blinked. "Of course."

"Is that why we have photos of Drake talking to Vanessa backstage at the Kanye performance last week?" Yesi asked causally, flipping through her notes.

"Is it a crime for him to talk to someone?" Mia countered.

"Did you know that he talked to her?" Yesi returned.

This was volleyball. Words were the ball. The table was the net. "Of course I knew. He tells me everything."

Yesi nodded. "Good boy, Drake. Good boy."

"Everyone was at the Kanye concert," Mia added.

    "You weren't," Yesi noted.

"I didn't feel well, so I told Aubrey to go without me." She felt her cheeks growing hot.

Yesi shrugged as if she didn't care one way or the other. "You have an amazing story. Starting from a YouTube channel, to working with one of the industry's top artists, working with Nicki and Bey...what is next for you, beyond that? Are you going to be coming out with your own album? Are you going to put some of your own songs or videos out there?"

The shift between drama and talk of music was so sudden, Mia had to catch her bearings. "I currently have a songwriting deal with OVO Sound," she informed. "And...I have some music in the works. Nothing that I can tell you about. I've probably already said too much."

"We here at Power 106 definitely wish you the best," Yesi said. "And I want to thank you both for stopping in to talk with us."

    "Any time." Mia smiled.

"And we're off," the heavyset man called out.

Drake whispered into Mia's ear, "Up."

    She stood up.

    He followed suit.

Yesi removed her headphones and tamed wayward strands of hair with one hand. "I want to thank you both for coming in," she told them. "Drake, you know how it is. I hope there are no hard feelings."

Without a word to her, Drake grabbed Mia's hand and led the way out of the studio.
