"And we're back from that very short commercial break," Angie Martinez said into her microphone. "I have Drake and Mia here with me. They are currently touring the country right now - all reviews I'm hearing are saying that the tour is your best to date."
"Really? Wow." Drake stroked his bottom lip.
"You hadn't heard that?" Angie asked him.
"I've heard good things from some of the fans, but didn't know how the critics were going to feel about it," he elaborated. "My team and I worked very hard to make sure this tour would be a memorable one. Going into each tour, we work hard to make it the best show possible. But I go into each tour wanting to make it better than the last. With that being said, I don't always know how the audience is going to perceive it, or how the critics are going to perceive it. My intentions are to make each show better, but there's never really any telling on if everyone will feel the same way I do about it. So it makes me feel good to hear that everyone is enjoying the show."
Angie smiled at him.
"At the end of the day, I mean...that's all I want," he added, his voice dipping low.
"Whenever you stop by, Drake, you're always so charming and polite," Angie remarked. "You've gotten crazy and bold on the show for me a few times, but you're always so...well-spoken. You're a charmer." She turned to Mia. "Isn't he a charmer?"
Mia's brows rose. "Uhhh..." She laughed. "I mean...he can definitely be a charmer, yes."
"When you are at home with him, is this how he is? Or is it all some clever act he puts on?"
Mia glanced at him. "It's not an act at all. What you see is who he is. Sometimes he turns the charm up a notch, especially when he wants to impress someone. It's no secret that he's had a crush on you for quite some time, Angie." She leaned into Drake.
He slid an arm around her shoulders.
"Enough of that," Angie said, laughing. "Mia, let's talk a little bit about how you came to join Drake on this tour. Originally, you weren't advertised to be a part of this tour." She grabbed her water bottle and twisted the cap.
"Right. I was actually scheduled to work with Nicki Minaj and Beyonce, which prevented me from being included on the tour," Mia explained, gesturing with her hands as she spoke. "But after a while, I started to miss having Aubrey - I mean Drake - around. For the past year, for the most part, we've been inseparable. I'd forgotten what it felt like not to have him there. And once he wasn't there, I started going a little stir-crazy. I sprung a surprise visit on him in Miami, where he was set to have his first show. Since I happened to be there, we decided that I should sing 'Soul Cry' onstage with him."
"I think I heard about you working on the Nicki and the Bey projects," Angie commented, screwing the cap back onto her drink after taking a few sips. "They're highly anticipated. Social media is buzzing about it. Is there any update on when we can expect to see those projects?"
"The process just started and everything is still in the early phases, so I don't know of any release date yet," Mia replied.
Angie nodded. "And you came to be a part of what is being deemed the hottest tour of the year, all because you missed your boyfriend?"
"It sounds so sappy when you say it that way," Mia said with a dramatic roll of her eyes.
Angie laughed. "That's because it is sappy, Mia. The cuteness of you two and how sweet you are together is coming close to giving me cavities over here."
