The Setbacks (Kylian Mbappé x Reader)

Bruna came back yesterday and as much as we wanted to kidnap her and keep her to ourselves, she deserved some quality time with her boyfriend. But today. Today was our day.

A beautiful Saturday morning with the wind blowing softly and the skies covered in fluffy clouds. B and I head over to Ney's house.

We drove up the long driveway, got out of the car with some flowers and a bottle of wine, then finally made it to the door where we started to knock.

Ney opened the door and says, "Hi guys."

"Hey," I say to him.

"Where's Bruna?" B asked.

Before he could answer, we spot her around the corner and we all let out a squeal. Then rusted to her.

"I'm good too thanks for asking," Ney says as he closed the door.

Béatrice and I turned back, gave him a really quick hug and I said, "nice seeing you again, Ney."

He giggled and hugged us back before we ran back to Bruna.

"Welcome back!" I said.

"How are you?" B asked.

"Thank you, I'm good," she answered, "and you guys?"

"We are good," I answered.

"I missed you guys so much," Bruna mentioned.

"We missed you too," B replied.

After a long introduction, we sat down and popped open the bottle of wine we had brought.

"How was Brazil?" I asked as I poured onto our glasses.

"It was good, I finished filming a show," she explained, "and I got to have some home food and see my family. It was fun."

"That's great," I said.

"How about you guys?" She asked, "come one catch me up on what's been happening!"

"I'll go first," B announced, "for starters, I'm walking for Givenchy, Dior and Balmain!"

"Congratulations!" Bruna yelled, "I can't wait to watch! I've been invited to Givenchy and Dior. Ney was invited to Balmain and I'm going as his date."

"I'm glad you're going!" B said, "Thilo will also be there too."

"Aww supportive boyfriend," Bruna said.

"And I'm also going to be there, supportive best friend," I mentioned.

"Yes, of course," B agreed, "and we'll be working together in Dior!"

"Can't wait for that," I said.

"Now your turn," Bruna said to me, "what's been going on?"

"Well, ever since designing and styling for madam Béatrice, I've been doing a lot more designs and making clothing in my free time. Other than that, work and Kylian," I explained.

"First of all, I'm wearing something of yours next," Bruna said.

"Of course," I agreed.

"And secondly, I see you going to more and more games lately," she said with a smirk.

"Yeah," I said, "you guys have been travelling, someone has to be there for the guys. Plus I went with Ethan and once with Charles and his boyfriend."

"Wifey material," B mentioned.

"I try," I said then took a sip of wine as they giggled.

"And how's Kylian?" She asked.

"He is good," I answered, "we're good."

"Is he going to the shows?" Bruna asked.

"Yes, Dior," I answered.

"This fashion week will be fun!" B mentioned, "can't wait for the Dior show tomorrow."

We continued the afternoon talking and exchanging expectations for tomorrow.

"Can I finally join you guys?" Ney asked as peeked through the corner.

"We never said you couldn't," I said, "We just don't think you'd be interested."

"Are you kidding me?" Bruna asked, "Ney loves to gossip."

"Não é preciso dizer assim, (You don't have to say it like that,) Ney said as he pulled up a chair, "What are we talking about?"

"Fashion week," B answered and continued to explain where she would be walking as well as instructing him on how to react when she walks.

"So we have to film it all?" Ney asked to confirm.

"Yes," she answered.

He laughed and said , "understood."

*phone rings*

It's Ney's and excuses himself to go pick it up and speak.

A few moments later, he returns but this time with company, Thilo and Kylian. Kylian walks in with a grin and a little bag at hang. He greeted everyone and finally got to me.

"How are you, gorgeous?" He asked.

"I'm good and how about you?" I asked in return.

"Great," he answered, "I got you something."

He extended the little bag and handed it to me. While everyone gushed over the cute moment with their "Awwns".

"Thank you so much," I said accepting the gift, "what's the occasion?"

"Just because it made me think of you," he answered which cause my smile to grow and for me to remain timid.

I opened the bag to find a small box and when I open that, there was a bracelet. The bracelet had all a few precious stone, probably diamonds and two letters "KM" charm. Next to it was one with my initials as well.

I took the bracelet and analyzed it. It was one of the most thoughtful gifts I had received. My first instinct was to wrap my arms around him and thank him for such a beautiful gift.

"It's a pleasure," he whispered back as we were still hugging.

The moment we let go he places the bracelet on my wrist and just like him it was a perfect fit.

"Hey Kylian, you're making us look back," Thilo mentioned which for a few laughs.

"Nah bro," he says, "I gotta show love."

And that you do, Kylian, in the most unbelievable ways.
