Kylian's Point of View

I got home and cracked open the door to see Ethan on the couch playing his video games.

"Hey, aren't you supposed to be at Ney's?" He asked.

I sat down on the couch next to him and answered, "I don't feel like it."

"Okay," he said pausing his game, then looked at me, "how was practice?"

"merde, (shit,)" I answered.

I wasn't lying. We had a Champion's League game coming up soon and I was not in the best mind space. All I could think about was her. I couldn't help but wonder how she was, what she was doing and how I could be so stupid and not tell her, warn her, something! I was filled with regret and I think I might've lost her.

"Okay," he said getting back to his game, "où est, Y/n? (where's, Y/n?)"

"Manchester," I answered.

"Pourquoi? (Why?)" he asked.

"Elle est partie avec sa maman, (She went with her mom,)" I replied.

"Ohh okay," he answered, "tu vas me dire ce qui ne va pas ou quoi? (are you gonna tell me what's wrong or what?)"

I took a deep breath, put my phone down and said, "J'ai foutu. (I fucked up.)"

He lets go of his game console and looked at me. He listed attentively as I told him the most crucial points of the story.

He took a moment to process it and said, "wow, tu l'as vraiment fait. ( wow, you actually did.)"

I threw a pillow at him while he began to giggle and said, "désolé. (sorry.)"

"Whatever," I responded as I barrier my face into my hands.

"I know I'm a kid and I can't really help you," he began to speak, "but, she loves you, and you love her too, so you guys will be fine."

"What about Maïa?" I asked.

"I don't know," he confessed, "honestly she'll probably go away. I mean she has to understand that you don't like her, she can't torment Y/n forever."

"I guess," I answered.

He then held his game console again and said, "now go to your room and call her already. I need to win this tournament."

I giggled and said, "thank you."

I went up to my room and paced around deciding whether I should call and if I did, what would I say. Maybe she doesn't want to talk to me yet. Or she might be at the event.

I'm never usually this doubtful about anything, but after hurting her the way I did. I just couldn't get my head in the right place. I laid down in bed and ended up sleeping in hopes of clearing my mind.

*phone rings*

I open my eyes and I couldn't be happier to spot her name on my phone's screen. I quickly sit up and answer the phone.

"Hello, Kylian," she said with her sweet voice.

"Hey... hi," I said then cleared my throat "how are you?"

"I'm okay, did I wake you?" She asked.

"Yes, but don't worry about it," I reassured her.

"Alright, how are you?" She asked.

"I'm okay," I answered, "how was the event?"

"It was really good," she responded, "I had dinner with Marcus, Jesse, Jena and their friends. Then we went to the event, my moms work was beautiful and we all had a good time."

"That's great to hear, mon chéri," I said.

I wasn't lying, I'm glad to hear that she's happy, in a better place, I just wish I could hold her.

"Thank you," she replied, "how was practice today."

"Not my best," I confused, "hopefully I'll be better before the game."

"I know you will," she told me.

We spent a second or two in silence, I didn't know where to start but I had so much to say.

I took a breath and said "Y/n?"

"Yes?" She asked.

"I'm sorry," I said, "I feel horrible for my stupid choice, and I don't know if you can forgive me. But I'll wait as long as it takes."

"Kylian," she said with a deep exhale, "thank you for your words, and I'll need a bit more time to forgive you but I will eventually. I called because I miss you, because I wish I was with you."

I had a huge smile on my face due to her words and said, "I miss you too. Aren't you coming back tomorrow?"

"Well, I'm not sure," she said, "that's also something I wanted to talk about with you."

"You want to stay long?" I asked

"Yes," she answered, "right now, Paris haunts me. I don't have a job and I won't for a while. My dad is mad at me and I feel so lost there."

It broke my heart to hear her say this, but I wanted her to be good, great even.

"I understand," I replied, "but can we at least talk?"

"Of course," she answered, "plus you're coming here next week, right?"

"Yes!" I yelled, "we play against Manchester City on Wednesday."

She giggled and said, "I know all your schedule, remember?"

"How did I get so lucky?" I asked.

I still don't know how, but I'm thankful I did. We spent the rest of the evening talking. She told me about her experiences reconnecting with Manchester and I could hear the excitement in her voice.

After the call, I started to count the hours till I go to Manchester, honestly this would motivate me more to practice and get out of my head.

Damn this girl.
