Rubbing my eyes, I realized that the light that had sneaked through the cracked-open curtains was blinding.
Or I'm just overexaggerating. Yeah, probably just blinding.
Getting out of bed and walking downstairs I enter the kitchen, seeing Ezra cooking breakfast as Max helps him.
This is so cute.
I lean on the wall with my hand on my hip. I watch as Ezra shows Max how to crack an egg. "Look, I did it." Max exclaimed, pointing at the egg that is now in the frying pan.
"Yeah, I saw." Ezra ruffles Max's hair. "Okay, what's next?" Ezra chuckled. "Nothing, we just have to wake up your Auntie." Ezra said as he started setting the food on the plates.
"Is Ezra a good teacher?" I asked Max as I walked closer to them. "Yes, I learned how to make pancakes and eggs; Uncle Ezra said I did great." He exclaimed. Ezra shook his head as he chuckled.
"What do you want, Mio Amore?" Ezra said this with his back still facing me. "Whatever you've got is fine; I'm not picky." Max scoffed before saying "Yeah, right, Auntie."
I ignored Max and took the food that Ezra was handing me. "Come on, kiddo, let's go eat." I say this as I help Max off the counter.
My eyes widened as I watched Octavius walk in with a bright smile on his face. I put my plate down as Octavius pulled me into a hug. "Thank you."
What is he on drugs for?
"I told her everything. And thank God Elain understands. But I promised her I would prove to her that I'm worth it." He whispered before pulling away.
Maybe Max was right when he said I'm slow because it took me a minute to get what he was talking about.
"That's great, so what are you going to do? You have a lot of making up to do." Octavius sighed. "I know, but Elain is worth it." I smiled.
Shit, I might as well be cupid because I got April and Leo together and almost Octavius and Elain together. He just needs to put the work into it.
"Thank you, Nevaeh." His tone was genuine.

I walk into the bathroom. Ezra's back is facing me.
I looked into the mirror that was in front of him. I can't tell what he's messing with."What are you doing?" I lean on the door frame. Ezra slowly turns around. I see my pearl necklace in his hands.
"Nothing." Ezra incorrectly moved it behind his back, trying to hide it. Did he forget he was standing in front of a mirror?
"Well, you're in front of the mirror." I said, pointing behind him. His eyes widened in understanding. "I just wanted something of yours. So when you are not with me, I'll still have you." Ezra pulls out the pearl necklace from behind his back.
