I put the gun in the waistband of my black jeans. My heart is racing. My throat feels like it's closing in on itself.
Kiara loads up the guns with ammo before she passes them out to everyone. April won't even talk to Leo. It's all because Leo won't allow her to come with us.
Early today.
Leo, I swear to God!" April shots as she throws one of the couch pillows at Leo's head. "Damn it, April, I said no." His voice deepened.
I stayed silent, wanting to know what they were arguing about. Yes, I'm noisy; don't judge me.
"No, because if something goes wrong, I don't want to lose you." This is the first time I have ever heard worry come from Leo.
"But—" Leo shakes his head no. "Please listen to me."
Back to the present
"This is bullshit." April grumbles as she walks into the room. "No, he's just worried about you." I say this as I zip up my black boots.
I turn, looking over at her. April finely found out what the gender is. It's a baby boy. She has the smallest little baby bump.
"Have you picked a name?" I asked her. A bright smile took over her face. "We're thinking of Shiloh."
That's a cute name.
"I like it." I smiled. "Yeah, Ezra actually helped us with that name." She laughed as she placed her hand on the small baby bump.
"Oh, speaking over Ezra, have you seen him?" I've been trying to find him all morning. "He is in his office." I thank her before leaving the basement and making my way to his office.
I push open the office door. I watch as he quickly shoves a piece of paper into his desk. I narrowed my eyes at his action.
"What do you need, Mia Dea?" Ezra asked as he pushed his dark brown, almost black hair out of his face.
"I just wanted to see you." I look down shyly. He still gives me butterflies every time he looks at me or just by a little touch.
He chuckled. "You get to see me all the time." Ezra said as he got up from his desk chair and grabbed his suit jacket.
He lightly pressed a kiss on my temple. "We've got to get going." I nodded as he took my hand in his, looking down at me with an empathetic smile.

Looking out the window and seeing the dark sky, I have grown to love it so much, but at this moment, I hate it.
We pull into an empty parking lot. Ezra gives my hand a small squeeze of reassurance. "Are you ready?" He asked.
Hell no, but am I going to lie? Yes.
"Yeah, we're going to get your mom back." I give him a sad smile. I watched his eyebrows narrow as he cupped my cheek in his warm hands.
