Small World in a Big City...

The morning went by really fast. We all went to eat at a restaurant down the street from our hotel. Thankfully they had pancakes, that I could eat.

After breakfast we went walking around the city. It was nice to have Lizzy show us around a bit. After getting lost yesterday I was just happy to have someone to get lost with if it happened again. I mean really getting lost is more fun when you have someone with you to make things more interesting.

It was about 3 in the afternoon when we decided to go back to hotel to get ready for dinner. Lizzy, Kayden and I locked ourselves in the bathroom. I honestly didn't see anything wrong with my look.

Nothing special, just your average dark washed, oversized, overalls that had holds in the legs from years of wearing, I rolled up the legs to my ankles because the pants are way to long for me. I had on the same shoes from yesterday, and white cropped top with a blue butterfly on it. This morning I braided my dirty blond hair in two dutch braids. I've also never really been a makeup wearing kind of person. So my face was bare. Thankfully I was blessed with my mothers thick eyelashes and eyebrows so I never had a need to fill in or add anything to my face.

I was also blessed with my mothers honey brown eyes, unlike my brothers. Kayden's eyes are sky blue, which my mom said he got from our grandmother. Steve has my dads eyes, green with a hint of brown. None of us got my mothers crazy curly strawberry red hair though. We all have shades of brown and blonde hair. Steve's hair is closer to brown, and Kayden has dark brown.

Lizzy has always hated how my hair color is natural, and she's had to add highlights to her alight brown hair, but she's has really pretty dark brown eyes. But what the 5'5 foot girl, with beauty peachy skin, lacks in ambition, she makes up for in style. I mean the stuff this girl will find at a thrift store is crazy. One time she walked out with $300 dollars worth of clothes that she got for less than 20.

Lizzy is currently talking about how excited and nervous she is for dinner, while in the bathtub shaving her legs. While me and Kayden sit on the floor just listening to the girl.

It was clear to me that she was in love with this boy. To tell you the truth i've never been one to do the relationship thing. Even before my mom passed it just didn't seem all that important. I mean sure i'm not mary the virgin here, i've dated a few guys here and there, and had one too many sneaky links in my life. But that being said after my mom passed and then the thing with Derek happened it just seemed better to not worry about it. Plus being a reporter is more important to me.

Writing is simple, it just excepts all my truths without judgment. It allows me to turn the page without heartbreak.

I was truly happy to see Lizzy light up with the glow of being in love. It's been hard for her to find a man willing to be a good man to her as well as her little girl. Not man men have the courage. But Bella is Lizzy's whole world. From the first moment she found out she was pregnant. Lizzy turned her whole world upside down for that little girl. Lizzy kept her personality, but matured a lot to be a good mom for Bella. Lizzy stopped going out to parties, put forth more effort into schooling, and started working two jobs just to be able to take care of her.

"What if they say something stupid?" Lizzy said falling back to the back rest in the tub, making the water splash a little bit.

"Liz, come on." I said "We are talking about our brothers, of course they will say and do something stupid. They are stupid."

"She's got a point." Kayden said. "They are stupid."

The three of us all started laughing, which I could tell was making Lizzy feel better about the next few hours to come. We all continued to get ready, and by that I mean Kayden and Lizzy got ready. I just sat on the counter and watched as Kayden put a golden highlighter on the bridge of his nose, and Lizzy curled her hair.
