@WilliamsRacing: Unfortunately @NicholasLatifi will be unable to participate in this week's pre season session due to severe food poisoning meaning @SOPHIEHARRIS will be the sole Williams driver that will be driving this week, we wish a speedy recovery for Nick.

@SkySportsF1: Breaking News coming out of the Williams camp today that they will only have the one driver that will take part in this week's session due to Nicholas Latifi coming down with 'severe food poisoning'

SOPHIE POV

Yep, this week is going to be a living hell for my body to go through now that I'm going to be doing double the work but, it gives me more time to adapt to the car and be able to understand it better come the season opener in Bahrain and could give me the best chance to get out the gates ahead of the teams closest to Williams like Alpha Romeo and Haas and depending on how well the car fairs against the midfield teams like Aston Martin, Alpine and Alpha Tauri we could even get some points. Providing there aren't issues with the car reliability wise then I'm hoping to get around 450 laps over the course of the 6 sessions given that I will be the only one driving I'll have to make up the lost work that Nick would have done had it not have been for him getting food poisoning.

Anyway its the day before everything goes down so right now I'm in the sauna to try and relax my muscles before they endure 3 full days of torture. I've been in for about half an hour before my phone dings and it's a reminder for the team meeting we have scheduled for today so I get out and get changed before making my way to the track, it's only a five minute bike ride so I get on my bike and head to the track.

Once I get to the track I swipe my credentials at the entry gate that allows all the team personnel and drivers into the paddock and cycle to the Williams pit building, chain my bike up outside then walk to the briefing room.

"Ok, thank you guys for coming in, as we are all aware the Nick will not be able o participate in this pre season session meaning Sophie will be doing all the on track running, as far as we are concerned our plans aren't changing in regards to how we approach this session, Sophie is very much capable on getting all the data we need going into the new season." Jost says before we continue with the briefing.

THE NEXT DAY

First day of the pre season starts in half an hour and right now I'm doing my last minute preparations before getting into the car, we plan on getting around 80 laps done in the morning, other drivers will probably be going for the hundred lap mark but I have double the workload than them this week so a handful of laps less than the drivers per session won't be as detrimental as it would first suggest.

20 MINUTES LATER

"Ok Sophie you know the drill, we'll get some simulations done with the car, we'll monitor everything from here, but if there are any problems let us know then come in and, we'll see what we can do to fix it" James Urwin, my race engineer for Williams says to me over the radio.

SKIP TO THE END OF THE MORNING SESSION

Ok the morning session as planned and actually exceeded expectations for us as I managed to get 95 laps done however nearer the end of the session the car had a problem to I brought it back in and got out the car as it was obvious that I wouldn't be able to continue for the last 25 minutes so I'm now having my lunch.

We managed to collect a good amount of data on the new spec car that we couldn't attain during the simulator runs we done back at the HQ.

Our plan for the afternoon session is similar to the morning session and try and get a good amount of laps in however we will have to wait and see if the car is good to go for the second and final session of the day.

After finishing my lunch I put my rubbish in the bin and start to make my way back to the garage which doesn't take long as there isn't much press at the pre season session due to the FIA not wanting this to be televised for some reason *Cough* Money *Cough* damn what a strange coughing fit;).

SKIP TO END OF FRIDAY AFTERNOON SESSION

Not much has happened since the morning session on Wednesday I managed to get 470 laps completed over the 6 sessions, the problem with the car wasn't too major and only took 20 minutes out of the afternoon session but other than that we had no problems.

Right now I'm packing up my stuff before I head to Chicago to surprise Mal at her home game on Sunday, we managed to keep up our movie nights together obviously time zones and schedules permitting like it is when I'm in England, however I've managed to get a couple days off before I have to come back to England to discuss the pre season session data and then we fly out to Bahrain for the pre season Test that will be televised and there might even be some fans in the grandstands and more press in the paddock.

A/N Thank you guys for reading chapter 10, apologies for the rather short coverage on the pre season session and the chapter being short in general but honestly there's not much to go in depth about, because it is just the teams getting a better understanding on how the car performs. I'm leaning towards not covering the Bahrain pre season test and jumping straight into the first round, however next chapter will be spent with Mal, we might even see Sophie take part in training with the Red Stars where she can impress Mal even more....

Anyway that is all and I shall see you lot in the next chapter adios amigos.
