Chapter 2 - Meeting Jost and an Unexpected Discovery.

THE NEXT DAY

"Ughhhhhhhhh why are alarms so annoying?" I groan as I hear my alarm go off.

I get up and go in the shower to get ready for the day my flight is at 10 AM, and it's 7 AM now.

TIME SKIP

I've just landed in Milan, and I've just seen the williams team rep, so I make my way over to her.

"Hi, I'm Sophie. Nice to meet you, " I say as I extend my hand to her.

"Hi Sophie, I'm Christina, and I'm here to take you to monza to meet up with Jost," she says and shakes my hand. She seems nice.

TIME SKIP TO ARRIVING AT MONZA

As we drive into the paddock i see all the team personnel setting up the travelling circus that is the f1 paddock and it honestly amazes me that in the span of 5 days this big group of people could be setting up the paddock and come the following tuesday they will have been packed up and already in another continent setting up shop there.

As we drive into one of the parking spots reserved for williams, we get out and head into the williams motorhome as we walk in the door. I say hi to everyone I pass as I see them.

Christina escorts me to Josts office, knocks on the door, and then leaves. "Come in," I hear a faint voice say. As I open the door and walk in, I see Jost working on his computer.

"Ah Sophie welcome," he says as he gets out of his chair , walks over to me, and shakes my hand.

"So Sophie, as I'm sure, Toto has made you aware that George will be moving on to Mercedes come the end of the season so we are looking for a new driver for next season and given your racing record of win ing F3 at your first try and now being 50 points ahead in f2 with only 4 rounds left we would love it if you could join us for next season" Jost says as he sits back in his chair.

"Thank you so much Jost you have no idea how much this move would mean to me as well as having the privilege of driving for such a historic and prestigious racing team and it would be an honour to drive for you next season and get the team back to where it belongs" I say

"Well, you are exactly the type of driver we are looking for here at williams, so let's get down to business and discuss the contract, shall we?"

Skip to the end of the contract negotiations.

"Well, that appears to be everything. Your salary will be £300,000 per year for 2 years you will get a bonus at the end of the season depending on where we finish as a constructor as well as an individual bonus for where you finish in the drivers championship. So, if you just sign here on the line, then that will be settled, and we will move onto the announcement photos." He says, and I sign the contract, and we both stand up.

"Well, I would like to officially welcome you to Williams Racing," he says as he extends his hands, and we shake hands.

"So what happens now is after the race on sunday you will fly back to England with us so we can sort out all the announcement photos and other stuff as well as introduce you to some of the staff at the hq, after which you can fly back home and then on the thursday before fp1 in russia we will announce you as our new driver for the 2022 season which we will hold a press conference with you in williams attire to answer a few questions from the press after that you will be free to do what you want before your f2 weekend gets started and you can then join us in the pit garage for quali and the race as well as free practice if you want and that applies for all of the remaining races, if you wish to join us at GPs that f2 does not attend email me and we will get travel and accommodation sorted out for you aswell as team attire to represent the team" he says as we we are now walking through the paddock before we part ways.
