Intervention Part One- Jonathan Morgenstern
At twilight under the bridge, that was when the traitor of the New York vampire clan was suppose to meet me. I gaze at the setting sun, my back pressed against the lamp post waiting for the foolish boy to show up with his end of the deal. The agreement was simple, lure in seven young shadowhunter and capture them, the bring them to this bridge at twilight on the 10th. In exchange they will get whatever they wanted. In reality they all died.
"About time you showed up," I spoke to the traitor with turning my head. A quick glance at his face and the shock was clear. I didn't see or hear him approaching but the demon energy that the lad's bike gave off buzzed me, like all demon energy did.
"It's harder than you think." He responded. I finally tore my gaze away from the sky to face him. He had the shadowhunters chained up at the wrist and feet to prevent them from getting away. I raised an eyebrow impressed. It was not everyday one could meet a vampire to properly acquire seven trained shadowhunters.
I hummed in response to his statement, before turning to the invisible multi-dimension door. Pulling the key from my pocket, I unlocked the door. Swinging it wide open to reveal a cellar like place, I motioned to the vampire and then to the door. Stepping aside I heard Night's Child grumble something about never working with shadowhunters, because we make them do all the dirty work.
Everything was running smoothly, but of course my foolish sister and adoptive brother and their annoying friends just had to come a ruin it. The audacity. I wasn't going to let them stop me, grabbing the stupid vampire's arm, I opened a different door, one that lead to my apartment, and shoved him in. Turning to flash my adoptive brother a grin, I closed the door in his face faster than he could react.
"Come with me now, we need to being the transformation process." I didn't give the lad a chance to respond before dragging him along the twisting corridors. At the destination of the cell door, were five of my trusted men. Originally fifteen of them seeked me out, five were set out to kill me, the others wanted a chance to prove their worth to me. First I killed the five before they had the chance to do so to me. Than I ordered the remaining ten to fight to the death until the strongest five were left, and here they were. They all drank from the Infernal Cup, embracing their new demon-like shadowhunter abilities.
They bowed when they saw me, a sign of my dominance and their respect. I nodded to Ashstrider to let him know to unlock the door. He did so, I pushed past him and swiftly knocked the seven off their feet. I watched as they all fell down on top of each other before speaking.
"I want you to drink from this cup." I informed them. One said, "We won't do anything you say."
"Oh,how cute," I replied, "you think you have a choice." I nodded my head to Ashstrider. He moves at a pace than the younger shadowhunters could process. With a quick grab of the boy's neck he tilted his head back and forced the liquid down his throat. He shriveled around and his screams reverberated off of the walls. The young shadowhunter's friends all screamed and tried to get up. To fight.
"He'll be fine. He's just been transformed into a new race of shadowhunters called Dark Shadowhunters. They're better and faster then your kind could ever hope to be. Don't worry, it only hurts a bit." I gave them a smirk before waving my hand in the 'you can continue' motion.
Before I closed the door behind me I said to Ashstrider, "Oh, and when the transformation is complete, the vampire can go." I heard a voice of protest before the door slammed shut. The vampire hissed in pain as he touched the door that was blessed. Blessed metal harmed vampires. it burned their skin.
I could hear the screams of the young shadowhunters being transformed, it was music to my ear. Drinking from the cup was not a small deal, it was extremely painful, the demon blood burned the shadowhunter's throat, but it wasn't strong enough to kill them. It was only strong enough to transform them into someone like me.
I sat down in my living room, the moment of peace lasted only for a second when Carthorne walked in and reported, "Your brother and sister have been signalling for you."I leaned forward on the couch, placing my elbows on my knees and pressed my hands to my chin. "Interesting. They seem to have wasted no time. Of course I might have something-someone they value. Get Ashstrider, it's time to test out our newest recruits." Carthorne nodded and went to notify Ashstrider. I stood up to go get ready for seeing my adoptive brother and my lovely sister.
I was waiting again, of course it would seem the good guys are always late to their own meetings, or perhaps it was that the bad guy were better and smarter than the good. Footsteps stifled by the Soundless rune, lightly echoed in my ears. I turned to greet them with a bright smile. Pain erupted from my nose.
"Good to see you too." I grunted at my adoptive brother who, no doubt wanted me dead. The feeling was very mutual. I wiped the blood away when Jace started talking, "It's not. Tell me where she is now. Tell me what you did to Isabelle. Tell me what you did to those seven shadowhunters."I was standing on the lamp post now, watching my brother's angry rant. It was quite amusing.
I pretended to be puzzled, "Hmm. I don't know who you're talking about, but I do happen to know about those shadowhunters." I dropped down to their level, smirking. Jace lunged at me, but I was quicker. I sidestepped him and twisted his arm around his back. I knew Jace and I were equally matched. I made sure he faced the crowd of Dark Shadowhunters.
"That's what I did to the shadowhunters." I pushed him away from me, and he stumbled.
"So tell me dear siblings. Do you wish to start a war? If so I hope you choose the winning side."
"Jonathan," Clary started, but I cut her off refusing to be called by the name my awful mother gave me, "It's Sebastian. Not Jonathan." My voice made her shrink back a little bit, and I don't know why. It's not like she ever loved me. I knew I was cruel, but nothing else seemed right. Being cruel was in my blood, literally. I was half demon, half angel, and half human.
"The winning side, Sebastian, is our side. You're going to lose." Jace emphasized my name.
"You mean the side with the Clave? They don't know what they are doing. They will be the downfall of the shadowhunter race. I will see it that they go down in flames." I retorted. Jace rolled his eyes, before attacking me with his sword. I jumped back just in time, his sword slashed through the air.
"Now, now brother," I told Jace dodging his swipes with ease, "this is not how civil people act when they want something." He was getting more frustrated by the second.
"I'm not your brother! Stop saying that. Just tell me where she is Sebastian! What have you done with her?!" Jace yelled, I could see the fire in his eyes. I was aware of Clary behind me with her knives. I chuckled, backing away from the two. I waved my hand in the air signaling to my soldiers, the Dark Shadowhunters, to attack.
The second they jumped down, Jace attacked me. I whipped out my sword with plenty of time to block him. When he got upset, he was predictable and reckless. Fighting him was like fighting a programmable robot. Swing left, cut right, dodge, jump, flip, and block. Of course like fighting any other human the fight would be over faster than it could have started, but with Jace, things got complicated, fast.
I nearly dodged a swing to the head. I quickly parried the blade away, and disarmed him. Jace wasted no time trying to retrieve his blade, but instead pulls out two seraph blades designed like ninja swords.
"Oh, now that's hardly fair." I told him before he could respond Clary screamed out for him. Jace spins around to see Clary surrounded by my army.
