“Yoongi, you came!!!” exclaimed Hoseok as I just got to the party venue.
I gave him an annoyed look, but he returned it with a sunshine smile of his.
“Come on, Yoongi, you need a break too,” he said, trying to knock some sense into me.
Maybe Hoseok was right, maybe I really needed a break.
I smiled a little and nodded, as I thought about how Hoseok cared for me in the most unusual of ways; or perhaps not.
“Well then, what are you waiting for!! Let’s go inside,” he said, and dragging me inside the mansion of his friend, he introduced me to people.
The place was big, yet, the crowd seemed large.
People were eating, talking, laughing, dancing or just making out anywhere and everywhere.
The music was loud, and even though I usually enjoyed music, the atmosphere and the environment of the mansion made the music somewhat annoying.
Hoseok introduced me to lots of people.
Even though I was somewhat happy and relieved due to the fact that Hoseok didn’t stop accompanying me through the crowd of unfamiliar people all night, I still wanted to get out of the crowded place as soon as possible.
But the thought of finally being able to get your contact number made me bear the stuffy environment.
After a few hours of getting introduced to people here and there, eating, and enjoying myself more than before, I found an empty balcony and told Hoseok that I was going to be there.
He nodded, talking with someone.
I stepped outside into the peaceful, quiet balcony, the sounds of people and the music very far off, and before I knew it, the thoughts of you had filled my mind.
I smiled faintly as I thought about you.
I closed my eyes and inhaled the night air. Even though it was now cold, yet, the stuffy environment somehow suffocated me, and the cold outside made me feel better.
I wasn’t a big fan of parties - in fact I hardly ever went to any- yet I felt a little less stressed about life and everything in it.
Hoseok was right; I needed a change, and just coming here for a few hours was enough to distract my mind and somehow it made me feel a little at ease.
I kept thinking about you, smiling as I thought about the little things we did together, but the thought of not being able to know of your well being bothered me at great.
After a while, Hoseok joined me as well, and looked in the same direction I did; forward, looking at the city lights from above.
“I’m surprised you’re still here, Yoongi,” Hoseok said and chuckled.
“Yeah, I’m surprised as well, but I need her number. And besides, you were right about me needing a change,” I told him, still thinking about you.
Hoseok just hummed in response.
We were engulfed in a comfortable silence after that, until Hoseok spoke up again.
“Why are you so keen on contacting her? She said she’d be back in a few days,” Hoseok said.
“I-I just want to know how she’s doing…I’m worried about her,” I said quietly.
Hoseok hummed again.
“You love her don’t you, Yoongi,” he said, more like a statement than a question.
I looked down, not knowing what or how to reply.
There was a long silence, until Hoseok broke it once again.
“Yoongi?”
“Hmm, yeah?” I said absentmindedly.
“You love her,” he said.
“What?? No, I mean of course, I mean no-”
“Look, Hobi, she is my only other friend besides you so of course I do like her as my friend,” I told him.
He looked at me and raised an eye brow.
“What?”
“Are you sure you like her just as a friend and nothing more?” he asked me.
I looked down.
“Well, yeah,” I said.
“Yoongi, do you think I’m blind?” Hoseok suddenly said.
My head shot upwards at this statement.
“What?”
“Yoongi, do you think I’m blind? I can see the way you look at her, all smiling, with little literal hearts in your eyes,” he said.
I didn’t say anything. Hoseok sighed and continued.
“Look, Yoongi, I can see the way she has changed you. You smile more often, you laugh and talk more often and you even leave your work for hours, going out with her and keeping her company, and like this in so many more ways. She has changed you, Yoongi, can’t you see it?” he said, speaking the last word softly, yet sternly with a faint smile.
“I-I don’t know, Hoseok,” I told him finally.
Hoseok sighed and nodded.
“Alright, Yoongi, I’ll let you figure out your feelings yourself, lets head home,” Hoseok said and I nodded.
We made our way back to our cars and we were about to drive away when Hoseok texted me your number.
I smiled widely at him and he returned it with a sunshine smile of his own and gave me a thumbs up, after which we drove away to our own directions.
It was quite late when I came home -about 2am- so I decided to text you in the morning.
With the thought of texting you, I fell asleep.
