The Chameleon and his Butterfly

Camlio's eightteenth birthday

The morning of Camilo's eighteenth Mirabel was busy putting the finishing touches on a new shirt she made for him to go with the runa she had made for him on his seventeenth. The new shirt had chameleons on the collar and on the sleeves along with little hidden butterflies woven through the shirt. She then left her room and went to Camilo's room to give him his gift. She entered his room and was immediately pulled into his arms "I was wondering when you'd come and see me" he said kissing her. "Well good morning to you too  Cami" she said "it's always a good morning now that I have you" he told her "I made you something" she said as did handed him a box "Mira you don't have to make me anything I have you that's all I ever wanted" he said  "oh you just open it" she said Camilo opened the gift and saw the shirt she made him "Mira this is beautiful I love it" he said to his girlfriends and soon to be fioncee in a moths time. "I was thinking you could wear it at your party" Mirabel said to him "I would love to" he said to her pulling her into him "I love you so much Mira one of these days I'm going to show you how much" the two of them spent the early hours of the morning cuddling and sharing kisses. Soon it came time for everyone to decorate for Camilo's party and everyone was busy all day. At around six the party started and all of Camilo's friends came to Casita. The party was in full swing and Mirabel was getting something to drink when she felt someone roughly grab her and push her against the wall of her home she knew this wasn't Camilo because even when he pulled her in his room he was always gentle with her. "Let me go!" She tried to yell but the strange man had covered her mouth so she couldn't scream. "Oh don't be like that I want you and I know you want me" the strange man said "no I don't and you are hurting me please let me go" she said as tears pricked her eyes. Thankfully Delores who was talking to Mariano at the time was listening and ran off leaving behind a very confused Mariano. Camilo! She all a but shouted when she found him "Lores calm down what's wrong?" Camilo asked as it wasn't like Delores to shout. "It's Mirabel" and that's all Camilo needed from his sister he immediately left his friends and went looking for his beloved Mirabel "let me go please" he heard her voice and following it and what he found made him see red. Mirabel was pinned against the wall of casita tears now freely flowing down her face and some man he did not know kissing along her neck. Camilo immediately pulled the man off of her causing Mirabel to fall to the ground against the wall. At that moment Camilo's father, two uncles, Abula, her sisters and Delores and Mariano came around the corner. Camilo Matrigal you let this boy go". Abula said "like hell I will he forced himself on Mirabel" Camilo said venom dripping from every word. At that moment everything turned to chaos Mirabel was taken by her mother and father to their room, Isabela made vines grow and wrap around the man pulling him from Camilo's grip dragging him off somewhere to be delt with followed by Luisa. His Tio Bruno looked sick and ran off to his room, his mother began thundering, his father told his son he was proud of him, Antonio ran into his brothers arms crying and thanking him for saving his favorite cousin. The party ended after that and as soon as Antonio was asleep he went to his tio and tias room to check on his Mira. When he entered the room he was nearly knocked to his feet as Mirabel ran into his arms he immediately wrapped his arms around her holding her tight against him "Tia Juilelta can I" he asked her "of course Camilo you really love her don't you? She asked she always knew that Camilo had intimate feelings for her youngest daughter but now as she looked at how he held her as she cried she saw just how deep his love was for her "with all my heart" he said and with a hug from his Tia he gently scooped her up in his arms and carried her to his room. "Cami I'm-" she started to say but was interrupted by Camilo "don't you dare finish that sentence Mira" he told her firmly Mirabel knew their was no use arguing with him "thank you Cami if you hadn't come when you did he would have-" Mirabel tried to say but was overcome with emotion "When I told you I would do anything for you Mira I meant it I will protect you with my life" he said pulling her into him even more "I love you Cami just hold me tonight please" she asked him. It wasn't until Mirabel was asleep did Camilo pulled out the engagement ring he made her a chameleon band with a butterfly diamond.
