The Chameleon and his Butterfly

A beautiful wedding

Today was the day it was Mirabel and Camilo's wedding day and the whole family was busy getting Casita ready for their big day. Mirabel of course had been banished to her room the night before as they wouldn't let them see each other because of a silly superstition. Soon the time came for Mirabel to get into her wedding dress which she of course made herself. Soon the time came for Augustine to come and get Mirabel " Pappa it's ok I'm just getting married" Mirabel told her father who was crying "I know and I'm happy that you and Camilo get to spend the rest of your lives together it's just you grew up so fast" she said "papa I'll always be your daughter Camilo will make sure of that" she said "I love you Mira"he said "I love you daddy" she said as she took his arm. Augustine led her out of her room and walked her down the isle where she took Camilo's hand. "Dearly beloved we are gathered here today to witness the union of Mirabel and Camilo Madrigal in marriage" the pastor said "now I have been told that the bride and groom have their own vows" the pastor said looking at Camilo as it was tradition for the groom to go first. "Mirabel when I was ten I fell in love with you of course at the time I couldn't react on my feelings for you so I ignored them and I hoped that they would go away but they never did they only grew stronger over the years so I ignored you took you out of the equation to try and not love you but that didn't work eventually I had to come to terms with the fact that I was head over heels in love with you and the fact that you wouldn't ever be mine. Then one day our home fell and to cover up my feelings I again cast you aside and was horrible to you when in the reality I was terrified that you were dead or that you were gone. Then you came back and you restored the miracle and I still was a chicken about telling you how I really felt even though we were close again. I finally got the courage to tell you how I felt about you when you turned seventeen and it made me so happy that you felt the same way that I did for you then a year later I asked you to marry me and you said yes and made me the happiest man in the world I love you Mira and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you"  Camilo finished. Mirabel took a breath and spoke "Camilo I like you loved you since we were ten but kept it hidden as well as I thought you hated me which clearly wasn't the case as we are standing here right now. I'm the luckiest girl in the world because I get to marry my one true love and my best friend I love you Cami" Mirabel said "may we have the rings please?" The pastor said Antonio came forward with the rings and they put them on each other's fingers Mirabels ring was a chameleon and Camilo's was a butterfly "you may now kiss the bride" the pastor said and Camilo pulled her in kissing her fully. The reception went off with out a problem and that night Mirabel and Camilo well let's just say they didn't get much sleep.
