A family dinner is one thing I hate the most. Usually it's just me and mom but today.... There are just so many people.
My grandparents, parents, cousins, aunts, uncles, every-fucking-person in my god damn family. Why?
My father and grandfather sat at either ends of the table, mother and grandmother beside them. And then followed the others. I thankfully, sat right beside my mother. Next to me were people I don't even want to bother myself with. I'm just glad that there isn't any awkward silence or otherwise I would have killed myself in front of everyone.
I do not know how, but the conversation soon drifted from the family holidays to future successor of the company. My grandmother and grandfather sat quietly, judging everyone in the room. The company was first started by the two of them and was passed on to my father, the eldest son.
My grandparents, from what I've gathered, are very elegant people who know their place. The two have equal contribution in making the company successful. However, as they have two sons and a daughter, none of them competent enough for handling a company, they are looking for a better successor in their grandchildren.
Even though my father is the owner of the company now, my grandfather still has an upper hand. He is quiet well known among the business class people.
I looked around to see that all my cousins, everyone older than me, were not even paying attention to anything being said.
I remember all the times my father mocked me and my mother for being useless when he wouldn't even be where he is without her. She is the one who handles most of the work and doesn't even get paid for it.
I looked down at the food that I was eating. I am also planning to meet Shinichiro again. I want to save him. Maybe the reason is because I already know the true horror of death, but that's not the only reason.
If I remember correctly, then Toman became a big gang in the future and had control over many big businesses. Even my father's company has ties with the black market so if Toman does become a big deal, it might be problematic.
I personally have no reason to take over the company, but I want to look down on my father after all that he did and said to me and my mother. For that I will have to work hard as well and.....
I need to get on my grandparent's good side. But that can wait as they're going to stay here for a month or two. If I have their support p, things will be easier fro me.
"Are you done Y/N?" My father's strict voice snapped me out of my thoughts. I could feel everyone staring at me. Now seems like a good time to begin.
I gracefully put the chopsticks down and nodded. "Yes father. I'll be taking my leave now." I didn't look at anyone and walked away. I didn't have to see his face to know that my father was shocked.
Was he trying to embarrass me? Does he not know that more than me, it would lead to his own embarrassment. He really doesn't have a brain.
I walked in my room and closed the door behind me. Aakashiko-san, my personal maid, was preparing the bed. When she noticed me, she straightened up and gave me a small smile. "Welcome back Y/N-san. How was the lunch?"
I sighed and picked up the clothes that were fallen on the floor. I don't do this out of free will. The only reason I help them is because I need to get these maids on my side. That way, in the future, I can use them to spy for me.
"Aakashiko-san, I'll be heading out for a bit. Can you tell mother if she comes for me?" That should not happen since grandma likes to talk to mom a lot, about all the business things. I'm waiting for the day when I'll sit there with the two of them as an equal. I'll have to work really hard for that.
My grandparents don't mind showing favouritism. It's not that they don't love their children, nor was it like this form the beginning. But after their children started their own families, the changes could be very well seen. And I can see that my mother is loved by almost everyone.
My uncle Hiroshi Akiko, the man who I met the first time I opened my eyes, and his wife despise my mother. My aunt Kiara and her husband love and respect her.
My uncle Hiroshi has three children, two twin boys and a girl. The girl is the youngest among the three, though she's older than me. The reason why I'm the youngest though my father is the eldest one is because my mother had many miscarriages due to her bad health.
My aunt Kiara Akiko who now goes by Kiara Lynn after marrying Mitsushi Lynn, have a daughter named Ara Lynn. She is two years older than me and is my only cousin who doesn't hate me. She smiles at me from time to time and tries to make sure I'm comfortable.
My aunt Kiara and uncle Mitsushi are very loving parents. Ara is a bright child and is quiet good at academics. I heard my aunt say that Ara specifically excels at computer skills. I can definitely use her in the future so I need to befriend her too.
I sighed but was snapped out of my thoughts when I bumped into someone.
