Y/N's PoV -

"Why are we doing this again?" Waka grumbled under his breath as we sneaked around the open premises of the house.

"Shut up. You're only here because I need back up." I looked up at the window on the third floor. How annoying. Why do they even have three floors?

The two of us were walking while hiding behind the bushes and stepping on each other's feet. "Look where you're going!" He whisper shouted, making me sigh.

"Shut up and keep moving." I looked around to see if anyone was there. When I noticed that no one was, I turned around to face him.

"Stay here and keep guard. You are free to harm anyone who causes trouble, just don't kill them." He nodded.

I walked towards the wall and looked for the ladder. Ara said that there was one as they clean the windows on regular basis.

What the actual fuck is wrong with me? I sighed. I feel like a creepy stalker.

Looking for the ladder, I walked around the wall but a sudden crack of branch caught my attention. I whipped my head to the side only to lock eyes with gleaming dark green ones.

"Peak - a - boo." He whispered in a hushed voice.

And I punched him in the gut. Instinct, if I do be so honest. Or just a gift for scaring the fuck out of me.

"Ow! That's no way to greet a friend!" He whisper shouted.

"Instincts." I shrugged and started looking for the ladder again.

"Y/N! Are you alright? I heard a--" Wakasa stopped when he saw Shiro standing next to me with a pained expression. Shiro waved at him while he just scowled.

"No worries, Waka. You can go back to guarding." I waved him off and turned around. Where the fuck is the God damn ladder?

"But there is a guy right next to you! Have you become blind?" He pointed an accusing finger at Shiro who just shrugged nonchalantly. "I don't like him, whoever he is."

"Me neither, Waka." I really didn't. I am in a world of manga now, a place where a person's character is highly defined by their looks. And he has the look of a predator. Somehow, he feels evil, oddly so.

I found it! There it was, laying behind a bunch of flower pots. I really am going blind I guess....

Back to Shiro... "How did you know I was here?" Wakasa was still standing there with furrowed eyebrows. Oh Lord, why can't he just trust what I say?

"I was attending the banquet and I saw you, or more like Akasaki did." He shrugged and held onto the ladder as I started climbing up. "It was a coincidence though. She saw him, not you. I didn't know it was you who would be here."

"And I wasn't disappointed either. Rather, I wouldn't have it any other way." He smiled and brought my hand close to his lips to kiss the back of it.

And I swear that I saw Wakasa ready to kill Shiro. Who will win if they fight, I wonder.

"That's enough of your flirting. Let me do my job and you both can go back." I sighed and started climbing again.

"Nah, I'm good. You can tell this white haired dude to go away though."

"Do whatever the two of you want." I knocked on the window thrice and when no one came to open it, I decided to pull some tricks up my sleeve. I opened the window wide open and sat on the window sill.

"Morning, sleeping beauty." It's not morning but whatever. I smirked at the girl who sat there reading a book. She jumped out of her place when she saw me.
