"Why are you apologising?" Why words came out harsher than I expected them to. The boy became flustered and rubbed his neck."Sorry, instinct." I sighed. Isn't he supposed to be a great guy who everyone is supposed to follow around. "Let's go and sit there." I pointes towards the bench ahead of us. He looked confused but nodded nonetheless.
As we sat down, none of us said anything for a minute or two. Awkward.
"So... you said your name was Shinichiro right?" He hummed in agreement. "How old are you?" "I'm seven." Oh so he's two years older than me.
"I'm five." I said while moving my small feet back and forth as they did not reach the ground. He gave me a bright smile and gave me a head pat. "You're small."
My eyes twitched in annoyance. I'm twenty-five, technically speaking. So that means I am older than him mentally! But he doesn't know so I'll let it slide.
I managed to give him a small smile. I'm not here cor stupid chit-chats. I need to make him my friend. "Well I don't think it's a coincidence we met again." I said in a sickly sweet voice.
"Right!" He reminds me of Oshiko. I wonder how she's doing.
"Let's be friends Shinichiro-san!" I tried to sound as enthusiastic as I can. How old was he when Mikey was born? Was it five years or six?
[A/N: I'm mentioning it in the story this time because I know many of you skip author's notes. I have decreased the age gap b/w the toman kids and Shin's gang to fit the story. Mikey wasn't born early, but Shin was born later. That means there will be no change in the original timeline.]"Sure Y/N-san." Right, he knows I come from a high class family. Well, good for him. "Do you have a sibling Shinichiro-san?" He simply nodded his head and tilted it up. "I have a younger brother who's three years old."
Before we could continue our conversation, someone tackled Shinichiro from the side pushing him towards me and throwing me onto the floor. It was probably that Takemio guy. Or was it Tameiko?
"What are you doing Takeomi?" Right, it was Takeomi. Shinichiro ran towards me with a worried look while Takeomi just laughed it off. Oh the nerve this guy has. If I didn't have to get on their good side, I would have gotten him killed.
"It's fine Shinichiro-san." I stood with his help and gave them the best smile I could. Acting all nice and kind is really annoying. I want to meet Oshiko because she is the only person other that mom who makes me feel at ease.
"Oh! You're that girl from the other day!" Takeomi exclaimed loudly. Pretty sure the entire neighbourhood heard. If I remember correctly, he was an ass of a big brother to that pretty guy with scars, Sanzu was it? And also had a sister who I really liked because of her character design. Her name was Senju I guess.
"Yup that's exactly who I am!" I focused my attention on Shinichiro who still had a worried expression on his face. Poking his forehead, I gave him a soft smile. "Don't worry, I'm ok. It's not the end of the world." Laughing it off, I started walking towards the main road.
"Well I'll get going now. I hope we meet again Shinichiro-san." I waved at the two of them and walked away.
When I reached home, I went straight to my room without being noticed by anyone. When I entered my room, I saw Aakashiko-san folding my clothes.
"You're back already little miss." She said with a small smile. I just hummed and sat down on my bed.
I stared ahead into nothingness. I could feel Aakashiko-san's worried stare.
Then suddenly I slapped my cheeks and shut my eyes tightly. "I need to work hard!"
Aakashiko-san was shocked as she jumped back at my sudden outburst. "A-are you ok little miss?" I nodded enthusiastically and jumped down from my bed. Walking up to the said woman, I held my arms out.
She understood and picked me up. "Take me to the study room!" I said while throwing a fist in the air. She chuckled at my actions and nodded.
I need to work hard. I don't remember studying much in my past life but if I plan on handling a business, I need to study. I just want to live happily with my mother in the future. And probably Ara, Aakashiko-san and Oshiko.
As we were walking towards the study room that belonged to my father, we were suddenly stopped by none other than my grandfather.
He gave me a stern look and then looked at Aakashiko-san. "Let me take her." He said in a polite and soft voice, probably trying not to make Aakashiko-san afraid.
My grandpa was a tall man with a muscular built. I can say he would have been quiet a heartthrob in his early days. He has brown eyes and my grandmother has green eyes so I can tell where my father got his eyes from. But he got his blonde hair from grandpa for sure as grandma has black hair.
When he held me, he maid sure to be gentle. "Where to?" He asked after Aakashiko-san left. "The study please." I said in a soft voice.
He hummed and started walking. This house belonged to him before but now him and grandma live in Hokkaido all by themselves. They love each other a lot and that is clear as day to anyone who sees them, unlike my parents.
But we passed the study room and were walking towards the room my mother said no one has the keys of. The keys for those rooms belong to grandma and grandpa. He's taking me to a place even father never went to? Makes me feel special.
Just as we were about to reach, we were joined by my grandmother. "Ah, so you've finally taken her words into consideration?" He nodded while I gave her a confused look. "We're talking about your mom dear."
The rest of the walk was quiet and when we did reach, I couldn't deny that my heart started beating faster. The key to the room sure was very flashy and so was the door. It was a beautiful wooden door with many flowers and butterflies carved on it.
"Let's go inside." My grandma said.
