Mikey has always been afraid. Afraid to lose his brother, afraid to lose his sister, afraid to lose his best friends and afraid to lose his sanity. A part of himself made sure to remind him of that everyday. The look on Hinari's face when she had been shot by the bullet haunted him. And for a fleeting moment, he thought he had lost her. Forever. It was scary but he wouldn't accept it, even to himself.
When he came back to the hospital after some time of leaving, he was astounded to see Hinari in such vulnerable state and yet there was this small glint of happiness in her expression that made her look so much more alive. His heart fluttered for not-so-unknown reason. He has had a crush on this blue eyed girl for as long as he could remember and almost everyone knows it, maybe the herself as well. Nut he still couldn't bring himself to confess. Not yet, a small voice in his heart would mumble.
"Hey." He whispered as he walked closer to the girl, a nonchalant smile apparent on his face. He had never been the one to openly show how he feels.
"Hey Mikey." Her soft voice sent his heart skip a beat but what worried him right now was the state she was in.
"What happened? You know you can talk to me about anything, right?" Hinari couldn't hold it any longer and bursted into tears. How many times had she cried today and why, were the questions circling inside Mikey's head because her throat was soar and her eyes were red.
"Its okay. I am here. You can tell me anything." But she didn't. She didn't utter a single word, just crying to her heart's content and Mikey was fine with just that. He wouldn't want to force her, never.
And so they stayed like that for a long time, a comforting silence enveloping them, lulling them into a deep slumber.

Taiju has been grumpy for some time now, a few days to be exact, and he was definitely not trying to hide it. He would lash out on the members of his gang for no reason, beating them half to death whenever he felt like it. Kokonoi was sick of it.
Inui on the other hand didn't seem to mind it. He was fine with anything and everything Taiju did and it annoyed Kokonoi to no end. If not his best friend then he himself would have to ask Taiju about whatever was wrong. Not that he feared the big guy, he knew all to well that Taiju would never do anything to him for obvious reasons. He just felt assured when he was with the boy, that's all.
"Taiju, what has gotten into you!" He interrupted the said man when he was beating some new kid in the locality to tell him 'who the real boss is'. That was not very unlike him but he wasn't doing such hideous things a little too frequently now. "Tell me 'bout it man. Maybe i can help."
Lies. He was merely curious. Why would he give a fuck about this brute?
"There's this- this girl who just won't leave my mind! She mocked me! Me! Does she even know who I am?!" A girl? His boss was troubled because of a girl! Kokonoi didn't knew how to react. Who could the girl be? His boss was so huge and frightening, it was weird to think that a girl can go against him, knowing that he shows no mercy to anyone.
"Can you tell me what she looked like?" Kokonoi was curious. Could you blame him though?
"Hah...." A dramatic sigh and silence followed. Just when Kokonoi was about to leave, thinking it was no good to ask his boss, the said boy started talking again. "She had long dark hair, completely black and it was braided. She was quiet tall, and had a menacing purple hue," Kokonoi was shocked, shuddering at the thought of a very familiar person. "She looked rich too."
Kokonoi didn't really say anything before leaving. His mind wandered back to his old friend and the day he'd met her. It has been a long time since he'd seen her. Even the thought of the girl made his skin crawl. When was the last time he'd seen her? They met for quiet some time and had gotten closer, or so he thought. Because just when he had started to open up to her, wearing his heart out on his sleeve, she had stopped coming.
