Abhimanyu Birla:

Abhi came back from his run, his anger much in control. Abhi made two cups of coffee and went to his room. Akshu had been sitting there for the last few hours. He went and sat on the bed next to her. "Baby? Are you still upset?" Akshu moved an inch away from him sniffing. Abhi put the coffee cups down and went near her. He cupped her face and wiped her tears off.
"Abhi, please. I want to be left alone."
"No. Talk to me. I'm not leaving you alone to cry over something stupid."
"It's not stupid, Abhi." Akshu said angrily. "This is very important to me."
Abhi looked at her a little surprised. Akshu had never gotten angry at him before nor has she ever disagreed with him. She was always so eager to please him, she did everything he asked her to.
"Abhi. I need to know why you are so against us getting married or having kids. We been together for 8 months, we been living together for 6 months. I love you. I love you so so much. I want us to be together." Akshu sobbed.
"Baby, I told you I don't believe in the whole marriage thing. All the marriages I've seen have been messed up. My father married my mother yet never treated her like his wife.  He has only caused her pain." Abhi said closing his eyes. Abhi never talked about his family or past and he didn't know why he was saying that to Akshu. Akshu put her hand on his shoulder.
"Not all marriages are like that. We understand each other. We know each other. We love each other? You do love me, Abhi?" Akshu asked softly.
"Akshu, I'll think about it, okay? I'll think about us getting married. But that's it. We won't even discuss having kids."
"But why?"
"Akshu. My father is the worst man ever and as much as I hate him, I see a lot of him in myself. I don't need to pass off those traits to anyone else. My father has pride in carrying off our family name. Well, that name will end with me. Not to mention, I hate kids."
"Abhiiii..."
"Akshu. Marriage is important for you. Kids are important for you. Okay. Now you decide what's more important to you. Marriage and kids or me. You can't have it all."

Abhi got up and left the room and sat on the sofa. The lack of sleep was making his patience run low and talking about his father made him remember him which made his blood boil in anger. In his anger, he told Akshu to choose but if Akshu chose something that didn't include him. He knew for a girl like Akshu, family was important which is something he couldn't give her. So what if Akshu chose something else, he will replace her in no time. But could he? Was Akshu that easily replaceable? Will he able to stand Akshu being someone else's? He put his hands on his head. He was starting to get a headache and his neck was bothering him too.

As he was about to get up to get some pain medication, he felt his head being pulled back on the sofa as two hands started to massage his head gently. He looked up to see Akshu standing over him, rubbing his temples and pressing his head. "Akshu.."
"I love you, Abhi. I don't know if you love me but it doesn't matter because I love you. I only want you. I don't need anything else when I have you."
Abhi grabbed one of her hands and kissed it. He closed his eyes and went to sleep as Akshu pressed his head.

"Baby! Please!" Akshu begged him as she walked behind him in his cabin.
"No way. For two weeks? That's a big no."
"Abhi! I haven't been anywhere without you in almost two years but just let me go on this trip. Just once. Khushi and Siya and everyone else is going. Baby, please." Akshu stopped him and started to kiss his neck. "And when I come back, imagine how much fun we will have making up for the time lost." Akshu whispered in his ear.
"Fine. But you will call me several times a day..." he turned her around and wrapped his arms around her. "Sweetheart, you know I can't be without you."
"I know but I'll be back soon!"
"Two weeks?"
"Two weeks."

___________

Abhi entered his empty penthouse and sat on the sofa. Akshu had left earlier in the day for her girls trip and he was already missing her badly.  Two weeks. This will be longest they will be away since Akshu moved in with him almost two years ago. He was now so used to having her around, he didn't know how he will go without her for two weeks. He took out his phone to call her to see if she reached safely. As he dialed her number, he heard her phone ring near him. "Baby? I knew you can't be without me either." He got up laughing and went to their room looking for her. The room was empty but he found her phone on the bed. "Did she forget her phone?" How was he supposed to contact her now? He didn't have anyone else's number in the group. He would look for their numbers tomorrow but he was sure Akshu will call him herself before that.

Abhi got ready for bed but he kept looking at the empty spot next to him. It was only the first night and it was already unbearable for him. He sat on his bed and pulled a picture of Akshu on his phone. His beautiful, precious girl.  These two weeks will be impossible without her and he knew once she came back, he will never let her go anywhere else again.

He knew now. He had known for sometime now that his desire for her had turned into something else. He still was hungry for her but he also needed her more than just in his bed. Without wanting to, he had fallen for her and if marriage was the only way to assure she always stayed with him, he would marry her. He will tell her he was ready as soon as she came back.

___________

Abhi got up early and went to the hospital. Akshu was coming back that day and he was dying to see her, hug her and kiss her.  The two weeks dragged on forever and on top of that, Akshu didn't call even once. He tried to look for the numbers of her friends and couldn't find any of them either. But she was coming back finally. He will scold her for leaving her phone but only after loving on her first. Oh how much he missed his girl. She was meeting him at the hospital as decided before she left so Abhi got there early.

Around lunch time, Akshu still wasn't there so Abhi walked around the hospital to see if she got caught up with a case.  He noticed Khushi and Siya standing near the canteen laughing. He smiled knowing Akshu was back too.
"Hello Dr. Khushi. Dr. Siya." Abhi greeted them warmly. He wasn't very fond of Khushi because of her boyfriend but Akshu told him they broke up.  The two girls greeted him back. "Where's Dr. Akshara?"
"We haven't seen her today, sir."
"What? Didn't she come back with you?" Abhi asked getting worried. Maybe she went straight to the penthouse.
"Back from where, sir?" Siya asked puzzled.
"Goa!"
"Sir, Siya and I went to Kerala and Akshu didn't come with us." Khushi told him.
"We asked her to but she said she couldn't." Siya added.
"Then where the hell is Akshara and where has she been for the last two weeks!"
