Abhimanyu Birla:

"I know why they dropped the case." Abhi said angrily to Akshu. He couldn't believe people could be so selfish and drop that low. Akshu looked and Abhi and then Aarav who was sitting on her lap. She smiled at the kid.
"Baby, can you be a good big boy and finish eating your dinner while I help Papa find his pajamas? You know he can never find anything himself!" Akshu told Aarav gently. He giggled and nodded. "Abhi, let's go to our room."

Abhi followed Akshu to their room knowing Akshu didn't want Aarav to hear anything. Akshu closed the door behind them. "Abhi. It doesn't matter anymore. Whatever reason they had, I don't care. I'm just happy my baby is with us. He's here and he's safe and he's starting to be happy. If they don't want him, their loss. Aarav still has parents who love him and want him." Akshu sat on the edge of the bed.
"They don't want him anymore because they are having their own kid." Abhi told Akshu who looked at him in shock. "Mahima Masi told me. They were trying IVF for a year now but didn't think they will succeed. But now they have, they have no need for Aarav!" Abhi was so angry he wanted to punch something. What if he never met Akshu again? What if Aarav still lived with them? Would they have discarded him like a toy? Aarav was his son! How dare anyone think that he's that easily replaceable?

Abhi looked at Akshu who was sitting there in shock. "I can't believe I was even thinking that Aarav might be happier with them!" Akshu cried. "My poor sweet little baby!"
"Baby, I don't care if this upsets you but neither you nor Aarav will go anywhere near that family ever again!" Abhi sat next to Akshu. "We are going to live here in Mumbai. The three of us. We don't need anyone else. Maa and Neil can visit anytime but we are never going back to that city or near those people again."
"Never again." Akshu said softly as she put her head on Abhi's shoulders and closed her eyes.

Akshara Goenka:

"Finally! The kid is sleeping in his own room!" Abhi said excitedly and pulled Akshu in a hug. "I can finally love on my wife without that kid coming in between!"
"That kid is your son!" Akshu pushed Abhi away.
"When did I deny that? But baby, if it wasn't for me loving on you, he wouldn't be here so let him sleep in his room!" Abhi hugged her again.
Akshu rolled her eyes. "I'm not sure. What if he gets scared?"
Now it was Abhi's turn to roll his eyes. "He's sleeping in a room 5 feet from us and has 80 night lights. He will be fine. Okay now don't make me wait!" Abhi pushed Akshu on the bed, taking her clothes off in such a hurry, he almost teared them off her. He took his own clothes off and got on top of Akshu, kissing her lips. Abhi moved his mouth to her neck, biting and kissing it before stopping suddenly.
"What happened?" Akshu asked him, pulling him towards her. "Don't stop midway!" Akshu hit his chest.
"I thought I heard Aarav crying. But anyways..." Abhi started to kiss Akshu all over again before entering her. Just as Akshu was about to climax, he stopped again. "Abhi!" Akshu said angrily. "The only person who is going to be crying is you! That too, my name!" Akshu pushed him off her and climbed on top of him, finishing off what Abhi started.
"Aaakkksshu!" Abhi moaned her name. "Maybe I should let you take control more often!" After they were done, they laid naked in each other's arms. Slowly, Akshu drifted to sleep as Abhi planted light kisses on her head and neck.

She woke up after a hour and noticed Abhi was not in bed which surprised her because he never just left their love making to just one time. She put on her robe and started to look for him. She gently opened the door to Aarav's room and smiled. Abhi was on the big chair in Aarav's room fast asleep with Aarav sleeping in his lap. She covered them with a blanket and kissed both their foreheads before going back to her room.

She knew Aarav never got up in middle of the night and it was just Abhi worried he might get scared. She smiled thinking about how much Abhi had changed and how attached he had gotten to Aarav. Her dream of a happy family was finally coming true.
