Abhimanyu Birla:
"What do you mean they want to drop the case?" Akshu asked Abhi. Abhi didn't know how to answer her. He didn't know the answer himself. He was having a hard time understanding. Abhi had kept Akshu away from the court and haven't told her just how ruthless Anisha's brother was as a lawyer. He was going all out trying to prove how Akshu was not fit to be a mother, bringing up her history with her anxiety disorder and questioning Akshu's character. More then once, Abhi wanted to get up and smash the lawyer's head but had to control himself as to not ruin anything. He didn't understand why all of a sudden they were dropping this case.
Abhi and Akshu went in their room and made a conference call to Anisha and Kairav. Anisha picked up right away and before Akshu or Abhi had a chance to say anything, Anisha started to speak. "Aarav is your son, Akshara so you keep him. We are fed of all the problems in our lives since we decided to adopt Aarav. We don't want him anymore. We don't want anything to do with him."
"Bhabi! What are you saying? Abhi and I thought you would still like to be part of Aarav's life regardless of who has custody. You raised him. You think of him as your son." Akshu said calmly even though Abhi could tell she was trying hard to control her anxiety.
"You are so great, Akshara but we don't need your greatness. We don't want him. He's not our son. He's your son and he's not our blood. I have zero trust in you as it is and who knows whose blood is in Aarav?" Anisha said bitterly.
"Bhabi! Please. How can you even say that about Aarav?" Akshu said angrily.
"Akshara please! Don't giv..."
"Mama!!" Abhi and Akshu quickly turned around to see Aarav standing by the door. They quickly exchanged a look as Aarav ran to sit on the bed, taking the phone away from Akshu's hands. "Mama! I miss you, Mama! Why are you not visiting me?" Aarav said happily to Anisha.
There was a silence for a few seconds before Anisha spoke. "I have to go. Bye."
"Mama? Mama!!" Aarav started to cry. He turned to Akshu. "Is Mama mad at me? Why did she not talk to me?"
Akshu looked at Abhi and gulped. She pulled Aarav in her lap. "No baby. Why would Mama be mad at you? Umm...the connection? It was so bad. She had a hard time even hearing us. Right, Abhi?"
Abhi was bursting with anger. He couldn't believe Anisha said such things about his Akshu and his son. The boy she herself raised and now the way she refused to speak to Aarav? He was glad she was not in front of him.
"Abhi?" Akshu asked again.
"Yes. Yes, Bud. Your Bua is right. Connection was bad."
"Call her again, Bua! I want to talk to Mama."Aarav told Akshu. Abhi took the phone away instead and turned to look at the little boy.
"Hey buddy, how about we go to park and play football with Neil Chachu?" Aarav agreed right away, forgetting about Anisha for the time being. "Let's go, baby. The fresh air will be good for you as well. We can talk about this later." Abhi grabbed Akshu's hand and they got ready to go to the park.At the park, as Neil and Aarav ran around kicking a ball and Akshu sat with Manjiri discussing something, Abhi stepped aside to call Kairav. He was not understanding what was going on. It was true both him and Akshu wanted Aarav's custody but both of also knew how attached Aarav was to Anisha and Kairav. Abhi had grown very fond of his son in the month he had come to know him and he really didn't want to break his kid's heart. His plan was always to win the custody and then work something out with Kairav so they can play a small part in Aarav's life still. He thought Kairav and Anisha would agree to it. Kairav didn't pick up and later turned his phone off.

Akshara Goenka:
It was two weeks since Kairav and Anisha dropped the case and Akshu knew Abhi was trying to find out the reason. Not because they didn't want Aarav, Akshu and Abhi wanted him more than anything else but both of them were heartbroken for their son who continued to miss Kairav and Anisha. Akshu hoped and prayed that Aarav would grow up to know how loved he was. She didn't want him to feel like he was rejected.
Akshu did notice he was mentioning Kairav and Anisha less and less and Akshu's life with Abhi and Aarav was slowly starting to resemble a normal family life. Manjiri and Neil left to go back to Dehradun few days back and Abhi was now busy changing the guest room to Aarav's room.
Akshu made dinner for Aarav and sat with him at the dinning table and fed him. Abhi was still at the hospital. Aarav quietly ate without saying anything.
"Chanda, what's wrong?" Akshu asked him gently.
"Bua, are you really my Mama?" Aarav said without looking up.
"I am, Chanda. I'm your Mama."
"What about my other Mama?" Aarav said looking up.
"She's your Mama as well. We both are your Mama. I grew you in my tummy. She grew you in her heart. Do you remember the story about Kanha-ji I told you?" Aarav nodded. "Kanha-ji had two Mamas too. Deviki Maa and Yashoda Maa. You have two Mamas too."
"Am I like Kanha-ji?"
Akshu smiled. "You are. You are my Kanha." Aarav smiled at her.
"Bua, can I call you Mama? Since I'm your Kanha." he innocently asked. Akshu looked at him stunned. "Only if you want, Bua!"
"Yes Chanda. Please call me Mama. Can you please call me Mama?"
"Okay, Mama." Akshu looked at her little boy and she couldn't help but cry. Never in her life did she think such a small word can give her such happiness. She picked up Aarav and hugged him.
"Can you call me Mama again?" Akshu said tightly hugging him.
"Ow Mama! You are squishing me again!" Aarav complained. Akshu half laughed and half cried hugging him.
Just then Abhi came and looked at Akshu. "I know why they dropped the case." Abhi said angrily.Sorry guys. I'm out of town so that's why late delays.
