~~~~ Jane sat in her usual spot at her favorite cafe, typing away on the laptop keys with a coffee made to her liking in hand. She had a big test coming up and wanted to study somewhere that was not at the dorms. Her roommates were having a study group with their friends and boyfriends, so Jane passed on joining. "Oi." a gruff stern voice pulled the girl out of her trance. In front of her was a blond muscular man in a chef uniform with a plate of food in his hand. Red eyes bore into her very being with not much expression to go off of. "Yes, Sir?". "Every time you come in here, you study for a long time and only order coffee. Eat something, dammit," he said roughly before placing the food in front of Jane. "Oh. Thank you," Jane answered, politely as she closed her laptop and pushed it to the side in favor of the food. The male sat in front of her with a huff as he leaned back to rest his tired body. It was quiet for a while since Jane did not want to disturb the relatively aggressive man. The blonde eventually rose back up slowly to see that Jane went back to studying with an empty plate scooched over. "Exams must be around the corner for you to be studying this hard," the male suddenly spoke, spooking the girl. When looking up, she sees him eyeing her notes as if inspecting them. "You go to the university down the road, huh?". "And if I did?". The girl's hesitation made the blonde chuckle. "At ease, Toots. Your notes gave you away. You have Mr. Toshinori's business class and he has a very specific way he does notes.". The accusations were spot on. "How did you know that?". "I minor in business and we have him at the same time.". Jane was taken aback by the news. She wasn't surprised that she never noticed him in class since she barely paid anyone any mind, but it surprised her that he remembered her. She may be a regular at the cafe but she was no specially gifted student or ill-mannered student either. "What about you? You know that exams are coming up so why bother asking? And if you knew who I was, why even ask to confirm?". "I wanted to confirm that you were the same girl in my class. I had already planned to bring you food anyway since I did notice your habit and my server mentioned it to me constantly. What gave you away was the notes.". Jane did not have a comeback so she went back to work. "Speaking of which, I really do appreciate the meal. I can take the bill since I'm pretty much done.". "If you mean the bill for all the damn coffee, sure. But that meal was on me. I get a free one every shift, but I wasn't hungry today." the blonde stood up and headed back to the kitchen. "Wait a sec. If you're in my class, can I at least get your name?". The request made the male pause and with a sigh, he looked back at her. "Katsuki Bakugo.".
The next few days went pretty much as usual due to all of the exams and once they were done, the grades were posted in class on the projector. "Top five. Not bad, Toots," a familiar voice said from behind the girl, making her whip her head around and behold the very man who plagued her mind on and off. "Have you been there this whole semester?". "Yep.". "No wonder you were confused, you only had the back of my head to base your suspicion on.". The comment made him chuckle as he sat back. Out of curiosity, Jane looked to see his score and was shocked to see he easily took the top spot in class.
