A Vermillion Love Story (Fuegoleon Vermillion)

Harmony Rachel Fantasia was the vice capital of the Green Mantis and the head of their healing time. She comes from no nobility or royalty, but she was a strong mage with outstanding healing ability. However, it wasn't her healing ability or strong mana that had her titled as vice-captain, it was her fighting ability. She wasn't an attack mage but she was a skilled warrior whose battle IQ rivaled most Magic Knight Captains. She has earned enough merits to be ranked a Grand Magic Knight and is well respected throughout the land; more so than her captain much to his dismay. Since she was a commoner, she mostly spends her time in the common realm to ensure their safety and stability, donating money so that they can get proper medicine and education. Wizard King Julius has recognized her deeds and offered her a role to work by his side, but she declines the offer, knowing that her squad would fall apart without her. She also plays the role of a therapist since a lot of her team deals with adversity and anxiety. Truly a woman worth her weight in gold and boy was Fuegoleon in love.

He doesn't get to see her often, but whenever he does his heart runs laps. Not only was she kind, but she was powerful as well. She's even acknowledged by his sister which is nothing to scoff at. Whenever her presence is in a room she commands respect and adoration. Everyone is drawn to her despite her pedigree and status. And don't even start with her beauty. Under her squad's robe was a simple deep v white dress with a beautiful lace that shows her midsection and hips, beautiful brown skin adorned with gold, and a gold headpiece atop her mass curly hair. And if the sun kissed her skin she would look unearthly, like an angel sent from heaven to bless the clover kingdom. His fellow Captain would sometimes mention her if been reminded of her existence.

For example, when she was ranked a Grand Magic Knight after becoming a Vice Captain, that was the first time he meet her. All of the captains just so happened to be in attendance that day and when she walked in, it felt as if his majesty Julius stopped time. All eyes were on her when she entered the room beside her captain.
"Hey, Jack. Who's the cutie?" Yami broke the silence, much to some's dismay.
"Keke. I forgot. You never got to meet my vice-captain, have you?" Jack answered smugly.
"Nope never had the pleasure.".
"Allow me. My Name is Harmony Rachel Fantasia. It's a pleasure to finally meet you. Captain Jack has shared many fond stories of you and I had to heal a lot of his wounds from them." the woman introduced with a bow.
"Aw, Jack I didn't know you cared.".
"Keke. I don't.".
"Still I don't remember seeing you at any of the exams since he became captain.".
"Well, I was recruited by Julius when I was a teenager and decided to join the Green Mantis in my adulthood because I needed a break from the harsh treatment I received from nobles and royals.".
"And you have grown splendidly," a voice came from behind them. They turned to see Julius, tearing up with his hand on her shoulder.
"You're worst than my grandparents.".
"I can't help it. You used to be so small and timid. So shy but so mighty. My little girl has grown up so much." Julius cried before embracing the girl. After becoming a Magic Knight, Julius practically raised her and kept her grandparents posted about everything. He was worried about her when he wasn't able to keep tabs on her but when she decided to join the Green Mantis, he felt at ease knowing she would get the treatment and respect she deserved.

The ceremony went on as usual but Fuegoleon's always ended up on the woman. He's heard a great deal about her but the stories simply did not do her justice. It took him some time, but he did finally work up the courage to introduce himself to her and congratulate her for becoming a vice-captain and Grand Magic Knight. As they talked more, he learned more about her. Like how she was only a year younger than her captain, her accomplishment in the common realm, and the many sheninagance with being a Green Mantis. He loved seeing how much joy talking about her work brought her and the smile that brightens her face. They both vowed to have conversations like the one they had again before parting ways.

One day in a captain's meeting, she was casually brought up in a conversation by Jack and everyone had something to say about her.
"Oh, your vice-captain. What a lovely young woman. I remember when she was a little girl, she was the most precious mage in the grey deers." Kaiser commented.
"I'm still shocked that she willingly joined your crazy band of misfits" Yami teased.
"Keke. I know you're not talking about crazy misfits." Jack rebuttal.
"For once, I agree with Yami. She should have joined the blue rose, she would have been my successor." Charlette chimes in.
"She certainly has more manners than her captain, maybe if she was captain the Green Mantis would be worth a damn," Nozel added.
"Not to mention how beautiful of a person she is with the most lovely personality." William complimented.
"She has earned the acknowledgment of my sister after a mission they both worked, so she has my respect," Fuegoleon mentioned and he wholeheartedly thought it was just respect and admiration he felt at the time.
