The Shalour City Gym

Starting this off with an encounter for Route 10! It's... Snubble... welp. I actually like this because I've never used a Snubble so maybe I'll like her. Her name is Help.

I arrive in Geosinge Town and find more of Team Flare. That's annoying, but whatever. I start to leave when Skater Girl's Lucario comes up to me and asks for a battle. I agree, but it isn't much of a story. Mr. Cough takes care of them with ease. After the fight, however, Help evolved into a Granbull!

Time for my Route 11 encounter. It's a Nidorino! 

I don't want this!

 I catch him anyways and name him Shnarmp. However, while fighting a Mr. Mime, Corpse 3 is hit pretty hard and we lose her. Good news for you Zubat lovers because Coipse Doy is taking her place on the team.

I take Coipse out of the box and start to train her when she dies right then and there. I'm not sure by what because I didn't write that down but I remember being very very sad.

Looks like Scrimble is on the team! Now time to train him u- OH MY GOD THAT'S A SHINY ELECTRIKE! I CAUGHT IT! SHINY CLAUS LET'S GO! FORGET SCRIMBLE WE'RE USING EGGBALL. The shiny won't show on the card if I use the 3d model so just remember that Electrike is shiny.

At this point, if Mr. Cough, Curtis, Seaweed 7, and Eggball don't make it to the end with me, I will cry. I love them so much.

The next place I go to is Reflection Cave. My encounter is a Mime Jr. horde. His name is Anxiety and he was sent to the box. While in this cave, Porgk evolved into a Krokorok and Eggball evolved into a Manetric! Remember that she's shiny because I will not shut up about it.

I now arrive at Salour City which means time for Mega Evolution! I reach the Tower of Mastery and Calem challenges me to a battle to see who gets the Mega Ring.

His first pokemon is Meowstic and I start with Seaweed 7.  Meowstic uses Fake Out which does a little damage and, while making Furfrou flinch, causes Meowstic to take damage from the rocky helmet. After that, Seaweed just bites the Meowstic to death. Good job!

Next up is his Absol but Seaweed 7 takes him out pretty fast thanks to Headbutt and the rocky helmet. Seaweed is a good tank. Calem's last pokemon is Frogadier so I switch to Eggball who tanks a Water Pulse and hits the frog with Spark. Water Pulse hits again and, at that point, I have to switch to Curtis. One Double-Edge later, and we win.

Before I can get the ring, however, I have to beat the gym so let's go do that!

Korrina's first Pokemon is Mienfoo and I start with Curtis. First things first, I set up Aqua Ring. Two Aqua Tails later, Meinfoo is taken out while Curtis still has over 100 HP. Machoke is next but he can't do much before Curtis is already about to kill him. Korrina uses a Hyper Potion, however, so we just do it all again until Machoke is taken out. It takes forever since she used two hyper potions.  That part wasn't too fun.

Her final pokemon, Hawlucha, comes out and I decide I test the waters with a Bubble Beam to see how much damage Curtis can do. Her defense is lowered, however, so I have to be cautious.  I get Hawlucha to half hp and switch to Help who tanks a Flying Press. She can only take two Flying Presses.

 I'm not sure what I should do. 

Hawlucha raised her attack up a lot and I'm not sure how well Seaweed 7 would be able to handle it so I switch back to Curtis. Flying Press hits and does nothing to her. One Aqua Tail later and Hawlucha is taken out.

We won and earned ourselves the Rumble Badge! And with that this chapter is... still going. 

We have one more thing to do.

Get the Mega Ring. I head to the top of the Tower of Mastery where Korrina waits for me. Her and her two Lucarios. She hands me the Mega Ring and her Lucario decides to join me on my adventure. Now, we must have a Lucario battle!

Our Lucarios take the field and my Mega Ring begins to glow. I press the gem and Lucario becomes Mega Lucario! Korrina does the same and they both use Power-Up Punch. Her Lucario deals more damage than mine but that's okay because we're faster. One more Mega Punch and we win. I send Help back to the box and Lucario joins the party, gaining the name Hetatoma.

As a stand there looking at our new teammate, I feel a tingle on my wrist. I look down.

The Mega Ring's glowing with harsh light. I feel it getting stronger and stronger, my wrist burning from its power. It swells and swells until eventually... it shatters. 

Shards fall onto the ground, clinking as they hit the stone. At this moment, something becomes clear to me.

Rule #8 - No Mega Evolution.
