Pokemon Y Nuzlocke

The Laverre City Gym

I walk out of the tower and get a holo call. I am annoyed by this so who is bothering- HELLO SYCAMORE HOW ARE YOU??? YES, I WILL MEET YOU IN LYSANDRE CAFE! BYE!

I have a date.

I enter the cafe and see my boyfriend Sycamore and his boyfriend Lysandre. They talk about Mega Evolution and about how Lysandre is evil. Normal stuff. Anyway, time to go to Route 14. Do I have an encounter here yet? I don't think so.

Calem decides to fight me for some reason but Seaweed 7, Hetatoma, and Eggball just destroy him. 

We are unstoppable.

Now, I bet you're wondering what my encounter for this area is. Well, why should I tell you? (It's Felipe the Weepinbell.)

Okay so I'm in Laverre City already and it's fairy type gym so Hetatoma and Bottom aren't allowed to be in battle but they'll stay in my party just in case. Other than that... I guess we challenge the gym? Wow, this is a short chapter so let's go through more than just the gym leader so we get more out of this.

I almost made it through the gym without fighting a single trainer and I wasn't even trying to avoid them. But don't worry! Furisode Girl Blossom is here to challenge me.

Her first Pokemon is Klefki and I start with Eggball since she won't get much time to shine during the actual gym battle. Thunder Fang is a crit and does almost half health to Klefki. This is a smart keychain, using Torment so I couldn't spam Thunder Fang, but not strong enough to survive! Three Thunder Fangs still kills it.

Kirlia is next and Eggball is too weak so I switch to Seaweed 7 who kills it with bite. Granbull is last and Seaweed is swapped out with Curtis, but that was a bad choice since Curtis kills the Granbull pretty quickly.

Furisode Girl Blossom has nice hair and a good complexion. She's pretty cool!

Anyway, I reach scary lady Valerie who is also the gym leader. Her eyes really freak me out.

Her first pokemon is Mawhile and mine is Mr. Cough. Mr. Cough misses a Fire Spin and is hit hard by Crunch. Luckily he retaliates with Mystical Fire and kills the Mawhile.

Next is Sylveon and I can't keep Mr. Cough in so I switch to Curtis, the tankiest pokemon my party has.  Sylveon hits us with a crit Swift and it does more damage than I'd like. I accidentally set up rain dance as Sylveon uses Charm. This is going great.  Dazzling Gleam hit and does way too much damage and now I am concerned for Curtis, who is sitting below half hp with Aqua Ring up. Oh yikes.

I decide to risk it and switch to Seaweed 7, hoping something good will come of it. Sylveon uses Dazzling Gleam but Seaweed took it and I think we'll be okay. Maybe. I'm not sure. Return did nothing but Sylveon used Charm so maybe I can try again. Seaweed hits Sylveon with Return before being dropped to 1 HP by Dazzling Gleam. Wow.

This is really bad. I'm going to lose someone... I should have brought death fodder.

I'm sorry.

I switch out Seaweed as Sylveon uses... QUICK ATTACK?? Bottom tanks it! Bottom then uses Bulldoze and it does nothing. Dazzling Gleam hits as Bottom the Vibrava falls to the ground, the lifeless eyes staring directly at me. I then send out Mr. Cough, hoping Sylveon's dropped speed will be enough. Mr. Cough goes first, hitting Sylveon with Mystical Fire, and... it lives. But Sylveon uses Charm, giving Mr. Cough another chance for Mystical Fire and...

Valerie uses a full restore. I am screwed. This is the end. I... I don't know if I can win this.

I switch to Hetatoma in hopes of keeping the other pokemon alive and Sylveon uses Quick Attack. Hetatoma uses Power-Up Punch and yeah it does nothing. Dazzling Gleam hits and he tanks it. Hetatoma then uses Bone Rush and it hits...

One...

Two...

Three...

Four...

Five times!

Sylveon is in the Red and Hetatoma is in the green! Valerie heals again but Bone Rush strikes Sylveon again, doing a lot less damage than before. Keep going. Bone Rush hits, putting her right above half health. She uses Charm but we have to keep going. Bone Rush hit with two crits this time and puts her in the red. Dazzling Gleam put Hetatoma in the red but he's still going. Bone Rush goes again and Sylveon falls.

Mr. Mime is out next and I know switching won't save us so Hetatoma will fall but he will go out fighting for us. He uses Bone Rush on Mr. Mime and it does decent damage, only hitting four times. However, Mr. Mime uses Light Screen so we get another shot. Bone Rush only hits twice, however. Dazzling Gleam hits and Hetatoma falls.

I send out Curtis and set up Aqua Ring, hoping she'll tank some hits. Mr. Mime hits us with Psychic but Curtis lives. Mr. Mime uses Psychic again, however, and...

We lose Curtis... 

Mr. Cough comes out and uses Mystical Fire, not doing much damage at all. However, Light Screen wore off so Mr. Cough uses Psyshock. Mr. Mime is in the red and Mr. Cough survives a Psychic. One last Psyshock hits...

And we won.

We did it. We earned the Fairy Badge.

I really thought I was about to lose. I thought everything was about to come to an end and that this story would end in a failure but we're still going. As I put Bottom, Hetatoma, and Curtis to rest, I know their deaths aren't in vain.

Sundial the Cubone, Help the Granbull, and Cuthp the Lapras step up to fill their shoes.

 We have a lot of work to do but... we'll recover from this loss. We haven't lost yet.
