The Anistar City Gym

Let's get right on this. 

Sundial evolved into Marowak and is ready to kill everyone. That's not true. She's not killing anyone yet. Cuthp, however, is killing everything. Wow, Lapras is a unit.

Now, I completely ignored the story for a bit, so I'm not sure what's going on. I'm at a Pokeball factory, I think. I go into the factory and see Team Flare causing trouble, probably, so I get to kill them- I mean, beat them.

Sundial and Help take care of the Grunts and I find the Team Flare Admin. Sundial takes care of her Scraggy and Houndoom and then Calem shows up to help me fight Celosia and Bryony. Great names by the way. We do defeat their Manetric and Liepard without much trouble. I then am given a Master Ball and a Big Nugget as thanks for saving the factory.

I start on Route 15 and am very excited to get my encounter. It's a Murkrow! A lot of them, actually. I catch the center Murkrow and name him Crunchwrap. I love him and will use him if someone dies. Mark my words.

I arrive in Dendemille Town and Professor Sycamore, my love, arrives to tell me about Yveltal. The Pokemon of destruction. I want this Y-shaped bird.

I go to Frost Caverns and find my first pokemon.

 It's... Jynx. I uh... we don't talk about this encounter. (Her name is Punge.)

I then go to Route 17 for a better encounter but I can't go that way yet! So I head back into Frost Caverns and find Team Flare harassing Abamasnow. Mr. Cough takes care of their Golbat and Sundial takes out their Manetric. 

The Manetric identified Sundial before getting sacked with a bone and I think that's funny.

Next, I fight Team Flare Mable who starts with Houndoom. I forgot to heal before this fight and send out a poisoned Mr. Cough. I quickly switch to Cuthp who gets hit by Foul Play. Houndoom uses Embargo, which does nothing, and Cuthp kills it with Surf.

Her next Pokemon is- what? That's it? The boss had one pokemon? Wow, she's a failure.

Abomasnow gives me a useless mega stone and I leave the cave. On the way out, a Graveler decides to be the worst type of person and explode, killing Help.

That's annoying. Crunchwrap joined the team. 

On Route 14, my encounter is a Delibird! I catch him and name him and name him Reginbald.

At the end of the route, I get a call from Calem who is going to challenge me in front of the gym. I get to the spot and the battle begins.

Calem starts with Meowstic and I start with Crunchwrap. I then switch to Seaweed 7 because Crunchwrap is weak.  Seaweed tanks every hit Meowstic tries until Psychic finally lands. He still kills the Meowstic, just not at full HP.

His next pokemon is Flareon so I switch to Cuthp. Flareon's quick attacks do a little more damage than I'd expect but it only takes two turns for it to go down so we're good. 

Greninja is next and I want to try something. Cuthp stays in, tanking a Dark Pulse, and uses Perish Song. I then switch to Eggball who is hit by Water Shurikens. 

Perish Song is still going.

I should have taken that as a warning because the Perish Song was counting down to Greninja's death but... it also was a warning for me.

I must have miscalculated because Eggball gets hit by dark pulse and... we lose her.

She dies...

I send Cuthp back out and Calem withdraws Greninja, sending out Absol instead. Cuthp is hit by a crit Night Shade and we lose him. 

I don't like this battle. 

Sundial comes out, tanks a Night Shade, and takes out Absol with Power-Up Punch and Bonemerang.

Greninja is back out and I switch to Seaweed 7 who tanks 5 Water Shurikens. He tanks more Water Shurikens until eventually, Greninja goes down and we win the fight. 

I am not happy.

I'm not sure what I'll do about this since I don't have many good options left so I'll fill out my team later. Right now, I'll focus on training and beating this gym.

Alright, let's see what I can do. The gym battle begins now.

Olympia starts the battle with Sigilyph and I send out Punge, the Jynx. I didn't want to use her but I don't have many other options. Sigilyph uses Light Screen before getting hit by Avalanche. Sigilyph his her with Air Slash and it does a decent amount but a second avalanche does even more. Olympia heals but Avalanche does a lot of damage. These keep going until Punge gets killed by Air Slash. Seaweed 7 comes out and bites her Pokemon, dealing decent damage. Sucker Punch hits and... Sigilyph is dead. That took forever.

Slowking comes out and I was wrong twice. It uses Yawn and Calm Mind instead of attacking so Sucker Punch didn't work at all. Seaweed is asleep as Psychic hits and leaves him at 6 HP. I switch to Crunchwrap and it's immune to Slowking's Psychic. Crunchwrap uses Assurance before getting killed by Power Gem. I try using Sundial, knowing it won't lead to much, and start hoping to chip away. Slowking uses Yawn and... we land a critical hit. We can win this. Sundial uses Bonemerange and Slowking goes down.

Her last Pokemon is out. It's a Meowstick. I try to see if Sundial will wake up and she does! She gets decent chip damage in before I switch to Mr. Cough. Psychic does nothing to our fox so but Shadow Ball does. Mr. Cough is now at 24 HP. However, we land a critical Mystical Fire and kill the Meowstic!

We did it!

Olympia gives me the Psychic Badge.

Why do I have a very bad feeling about what's about to come?
