Scarlett's POV

I don't know what came over me, I don't know if it was the right decision to say yes, for gods sake I just met this girl, at a bar. She did however protect me from the drunken asshole I had to encounter, not that I needed her protection I was going to give that man a piece of my mind until she got herself involved. I appreciated her gesture, truly I did, I just thought it was stupid but I have no room to judge I remember my younger self all too well, and I wish I didn't. Something still hasn't left my conscience, her name, Y/n. I recognize it, I just can't seem to know from where and she hasn't even given me her last name yet.

I shift my gaze to the door and walk over to it while still checking my shoulder to make sure y/n doesn't fall forward again. I unlock the door and see her compose herself a little, once she notices me looking she offers a lazy smile, it's adorable.

I walk back over to her and offer her my hand which I notice confuses her.

"So you don't fall..again" I say with a tone of playfulness I hope she acknowledges.

She smiles and takes my hand gently. Her hand is slightly bigger than mine, which is nice. I shouldn't be thinking like this, I don't know why I am. I'll work on avoiding that mindset. I'm not a cheater.

We walk to the door and before I can open it, it swings open with three young girls coming in. They definitely used fake ID's.

"Damn she's hot" one of the girls whisper while keeping her eyes on y/n. I mentally scoff and I give her one of my stares so she knows I didn't like her choice of words. She quickly looks down avoiding my gaze. God I love doing that.

We walk out and y/n's grip becomes a little tighter.

"I know an easy exit" she shouts over the loud music.

I nod letting her show me the way.

She walks toward the bartenders booth, I quickly stop her.

"You do realize that's the bar, right?" I ask.

She smiles at me, she's making fun of me.

"I know, come on trust me a little" she says loudly.

I stare at her for a second and I hesitantly let her guide me to this so called exit.

We walk through the booth and I can see the barista is taken aback so I offer a quick apology and follow y/n.

She lets go of my hand and pushes a door and suddenly we're outside.

She smiles "What did I say"

I roll my eyes and continue to walk forward.

Y/n quickly follows behind and I can't help but smile at her eagerness.

"You should smile more often, it suits you" she says with a wide smile across her face.

I scoff and look away.

She speeds up a couple of feet ahead of me.

"Why are you walking in front of me?" I question genuinely concerned.

"I want to see you" she says confidently.

Not going to lie that took me back. She has a way with words. Which probably means she's done this multiple times. Now I'm just overthinking.

"That, and I need to make sure no bad guys come lurking around" she says jokingly.

I laugh and look down at my phone that's currently buzzing. I choose to ignore it. I'm almost home. He can wait.

It's pretty chilly outside and I can't help but get a little cold and I think y/n noticed this because she took her jacket off.

"You don't have to do that" I say.
