Y/N's POV
"Twoo more shots please!" My best friend gestures the number two with his fingers to the barista who seems to be annoyed by our presence.
The music in the background plays in my ears, the sounds of people talking, and laughter all around.
I can't help but sit there and laugh at a memory from three years ago. My best friend joins my laughing parade which causes me to laugh hysterically, he just has one of those laughs that are terribly contagious.
As if he could read my mind he stops laughing and turns to me with a frown. "Are you laughing at me?" He furrows his brow with confusion.
With tears in my eyes I look at him and try to compose myself. I wipe my eyes and take a deep breath.
"Rem-remember that time in freshmen year when you walked into the girls bathroom drunk and threw up all over the place." I say trying to keep myself together.
"Oh god please, I thought I asked you never to remind me of that nightmare again." he says with a tone of regret and guilt in his voice.
"You.. you kept saying sorry to the girls in the bathroom while you were throwing up" I notice a red shade begin to form in his cheeks while I continue with my story.
I smile "And I had to drag you out of there while also apologizing to those girls for you"
I can tell that my words have somewhat of a negative effect on him so I punch his shoulder teasingly.
I sigh "Hey bud, it happens to the best of us. I'm just glad we have that sort of bond and just know I'll always be here for you, even if you throw up on me" he smiles and I return the favor.
"You know what y/n, I'm so thankful to have you in my life" he says looking at me in awe.
"Why? because I'll let you throw up on me?" I respond jokingly.
"No bec-because you're amazing everything about you is so real, and I can just talk to you so easily" he says happily.
I laugh softly "Careful, it almost sounds like you're about to reveal your undying love for me, and might I remind you.. I like women" I tease..
He playfully scoffs "Might I remind you, I like men." He informs in a low pitched voice to make himself sound manly.
"You're an absolute dork." I tell him while giving him a small laugh.
He nods "Oh but you love it" he says jokingly.
As I'm about to give him a snarky remark, a woman with blonde hair sits a couple of seats away from us, successfully distracting me.
I observed her curiously and I noticed a hint of sadness and sorrow in her eyes. I like to believe that I know when someone's having a bad day or isn't exactly happy. Judging by the looks of it, she's certainly sad and maybe even a little disappointed.
She sits alone deep in thought and I can't help but wonder what she's thinking about, what's on her mind? Who is she?
"Miss, what can I get for ya?" The barista asks her while cleaning a shot glass with a red towel.
She seems to be very lost, she missed his words and completely ignored his question. I know for a fact that she didn't purposely do it, she doesn't seem like the petty type, pretty but certainly not petty.
"Miss?" He asked again, a little louder this time, with a concerned look across his face.
She jerks her head towards the barista and looks slightly embarrassed. "Oh dear I'm sorry, I'll have a martini" the woman says with a sort of raspy voice that make my ears want to dance.
