Y/n's POV

As I stand outside Scarlett's classroom I can't help but feel a wave of anxiety cross over me and It makes me feel terribly dizzy. I can practically hear my heart thumping through my ears like some kind of music. I shake off all the negative thoughts in my head. Maybe she won't even recognize me or notice me enter, wait a minute. What if I just sneak in? I'm sure if I open the door slowly I might be lucky enough to pass by unnoticed. I've watched enough Mission Impossible movies, I think I can pull it off.

I take a deep breath and slowly open the door. As I sneak in, I peak my head through the cracks of the door, I notice that she's currently writing something on the board, thank god. I quickly enter the room and make my way towards the seats. Unfortunately I notice that a lot of my friends are here and they seem to take notice of me as well because they start greeting me in the middle of class calling my name and waving at me.

"Excuse me?" A familiar raspy voice echoes through the classroom. Oh fuck.

"Sneaking into class on the first day? not a very good first impression." The voice continues from behind me.

I clear my throat "I'd say it's a great first impression..." I respond nervously.

The class quietly laughs and I swear I can practically feel her eyes burning through the back of my head.

"and why is that?" She asks.

I turn to face her "because now you won't forget our first encounter" I say confidently.

My heart stops as I watch her facial expression shift from a one of pure and utter shock to an expression of downright anger. I watch as her piercing green eyes turn cold and bitter. That same feeling from yesterday resurfaces amongst me, the feeling when she caught me in Aubrey's home. As fast as her emotions came, the faster they left. She now has put up an emotionless expression.

She clears her throat and redirects her vision towards the classroom "Please excuse me, I have to deal with someone outside. Please read over the syllabus I handed out earlier." Scarlett announces to the class.

She then turns around and walks away from me and to the door, opening it and glancing back at me. I'm still frozen in the same place.

"Today Y/n" Scarlett says sternly as she walks out the door and into the hallway.

I nervously make my way toward the door opening it. Only to be met with a furious looking Scarlett in the middle of an empty hallway.

"I can explain.."

"Save it." Scarlett angrily cuts me off.

"I'm going to lay down some rules and you're going to listen. Is that understood?" Scarlett says.

I slowly nod. I'm kind of confused at her sudden demeanor it's like she was expecting to see me today.

Scarlett's POV

Today has been a very draining day. I went over to Aubrey's to have breakfast but I received an unexpected message from school saying that I needed to attend a mandatory meeting. I of course attended that meeting, which by the way was very useless and unnecessary because the administration board just covered topics I already knew.

Throughout the meeting I was heavily distracted, in my thoughts of course. I just don't understand how Aubrey and y/n ended up together. I didn't see any chemistry or tension during our dinner so it was quite a surprise to find y/n in Aubrey's home. Anyways I'm a little disappointed of the outcome. I thought I made a friend, Aubrey. I guess I was wrong.

Anyways I'm currently sitting in my office at home going over my class materials before I go to sleep. Tomorrow's my first day officially teaching at school and I'm excited. I then suddenly get an email from the administration board. They finally sent in the class rosters like they said they would during the meeting.
