"Hey Betty, you online?" Texted Honey. Her fingers continuously tapped the screen of her new phone. She was at her house two hours away from Betty's waiting in anticipation for when she and her dad would leave to go pick up her friend.

It had been approximately one and a half months since the two got to see each other so it was quite a coincidence it was the first day of spring break. Otherwise, they probably wouldn't catch a glimpse of each other in person for another month at the very least.

The two had quite a few things in common. A couple of their favourite things to pass the time were drawing, playing board games, and on the top of their list was Minecraft. Even though they weren't the best at the famous pixelated game, hopefully in a couple months they'll get much much for experienced. Betty had just gotten her laptop she had been saving up to the entire Christmas break and Summer break. It was quite a lot of work I'd have to say but definitely worth it! She was going to bring the device along with her to Honey's house so they could get more experienced in creating servers and such.

In a few minutes, Betty felt her phone vibrate in her hoodie pocket, and she pulled it out. She turned it on and opened kik in seconds to be welcomed by a new message from Honey.

B. Hey Honey! Glad to know youve already added me on kik. Oh! Btw, what time do u think i should leave

A volt of adrenaline rippled through Honey's veins as she felt her phone vibrate in her hand once her friend replied to her text.
H. Um, probably at about 12. Itll only take u an hour to get here so just take yur time. Its not like its the last time we'll see eachother XD

B. K. I bet my mom knows that already so i guess ill see ya soon :D

H. K. Cant wait! Cya

Honey pressed the little send button on her phone and shut it off seconds later. She switched to her laptop and logged onto Minecraft. Honey was making a large city on one of her flat lands that was to be made into a server once she and her dad picked up Betty.

Minutes passed and Honey's dad's voice echoed from at the bottom of the stairs right by her bedroom door. "Honey!!! Come out here and put your shoes on! It's time to go."

She shut off her laptop and grabbed her phone for the trip. Honey stumbled down the stairs and slid her sneakers (well only got her toes in. Her heels were sticking out and crushing the backs of the shoes) on at a rapid pace while her heart beat rapidly. She was finally going to see her friend after so long! Without even putting her jacket on, only grabbing it and swinging it over her shoulder, Honey followed after her dad and ran out the door slamming it behind her.

Betty POV

I had just finished packing all my clothes in my already overstuffed suitcase when my mom knocked on my door which was opened just a crack.

"Betty, it's time!" She called in her sweet, soft, motherly voice.

"Hold on a sec mom. I'm just gonna get my stuff!" I called back from the other side of the door.
I zipped up my bags and slid a few of them onto my shoulders feeling the weight of one side make me lean over slightly. I regained my footing, walked out of my room, and up the stairs to the front door. I slid on my shoes calmly and walked out the door feeling the cold air whip against my face shifting the position of my slouchy hat on my head.

"Dang it! Forgot my hoodie in the house." I muttered under my breath as the chilly air whispered and licked at my arms.

I threw my bags in the car and jogged back inside to grab my soft warm hoodie still in my room. I dashed into my room and slipped my body into the warm fabric.

"Betty, come on! I'm gonna leave without you!" Called my mom in a sing-songy voice jokingly. I could hear her footsteps moving upstairs and the squeaking door swing open.

I sighed in playful frustration. "Yeah yeah! Just grabbing the last of my stuff." I got up from my kneeling position and followed right after my mom out the door and to the car.

Honey POV

I groaned, would this car trip get any more boring! I only had three songs downloaded onto my phone because I just got it last week, and they were all getting really boring.

"Dad, how much farther?" I groaned as my tongue dripped in annoyance.

"About an hour Honey. Maybe while you're waiting, you could work in that essay that's due next month." He suggested. His voice didn't seem happy or upbeat in any way like mine either.

"I guess you're right on that one!" I replied to him slightly rising up out of the annoyed hole.
I turned my phone on again, pulled my earbuds out of my ears, even though there was no music coming out of them anymore, and entered my schoolwork app. In a few short seconds I was typing away on the tiny screen and thinking up ideas on what to write as I went. My essay topic was about video games and how some of them can be quite useful to some of your upcoming careers after you graduate. I thought it was a pretty cool idea so I extended it to about how good Minecraft was for you! I had no certain details at the moment, but I assumed everyone was going to like my essay.

Time Skip

Eventually, I felt a medium, sized bump erupt me out of my typing, and I looked up out of the window. Another bump caused me to slightly jump in my seat.  I gasped with a mix of a sigh of relief as I realized where we were. We were crossing the bridge to the next town where we were to come pick up Betty.

In a few short minutes, we stopped at the mall to get something to eat. It was noon after all.
My dad walked up to the counter where a tan skinned lady stood with a large mound of dirty blonde hair piled onto her head messily. Her dark blue uniform had miscellaneous stains outlining the short sleeves, pockets, and mostly the front. Her eyes looked tired and her cheeks were red from the steam coming from the back kitchen. I felt quite sorry for her, but tried not to stare as my dad looked at the large multicoloured menu above her.

He eventually ordered in a few minutes of picking, and all the women did was nod her head and write it down on a small sticky note. She turned around and walked up to the large metal bar in front of furiously cooking chefs and slammed the note onto the bar. She turned back to face us, but spun a bit diagonally to look at the people beside us waiting to order.

I looked up at my dad and tugged his arm motioning for him to come with me to pick out a table.

We sat down for a few minutes doing absolutely nothing, until my dad finally stood up. I assumed the food was ready even though there was nobody to tell us.

We ate in silence as I thought about the stuff I was going to get to do with Betty once we got to my place.

Betty POV

Five minutes ago I had gotten in the car, and it was stifling hot inside so I got nauseous almost immediately. My mom had given me some pills to help me feel better, and they helped a little bit. She said that they were supposed to help me get to sleep, but I seriously don't know why people say that. The only way I get tired is if it's been a long day and I've been on my feet for hours, But that hadn't happened yet so the pills were practically some chalky tab with artificial tasting flavours packed together.

The only thing I could do on a long road trip was listen to my music. I had about 27 songs on my phone so they would occupy me. Well, for a little while before I died of boredom.
I had to look out the window the whole way (an hour approximately), and the roads were incredibly twisty which made me shudder as I tried not to think of throwing up.

I looked at my clock on my phone, it said 12:10. Just my luck, we still had 50 minutes to go. These roads felt like they would never end.

Slight Time Skip

After a while, we finally made it. We were crossing the bridge into the city where I would meet Honey. I couldn't wait to see her. My heart pounded in my chest. Adrenaline was running through me like crazy. I had never been so relieved to get into the city.
