31. Who The Hell Is Jinwoo

Soobin was now on his way to yeonjun's apartment. He had checked the security camera's before leaving, and the living room was a mess.

He quickly went out of the elevator and made his way to the door. There he was met with beomgyu and taehyun who seemed like they were trying to open the door.

"where is he?"

"definitely not here. We found the spare key tho. We were just about to enter" They all went inside and couldn't see a thing

"I'm gonna go turn on the power" beomgyu said as he walked out the door. Soon the power was back and so was beomgyu. Everything, all the furniture, was shattered in the living room. It was an awful sight to see.

Soobin and taehyun ran in different directions to check if yeonjun was still in there. But he wasn't. Panicked, they walked back to the living room, in hopes of gathering evidence.

Meanwhile beomgyu decided to explore the living room. He noticed a plant in a pot lying on the floor and walked towards it. He noticed something odd about so he started analyzing it.

"soobin hyung is this camera part of the security system you installed?" he inquired.

"No it's not" realization slowly hit the three

"if he put a camera here, then they're probably all around the house" taehyun said joining the conversation

They slowly walked to the kitchen and they saw knives scattered across teh counter top. Thankfully they didn't have any blood on them. They also saw a half eaten cupcake.

Now they made their way to yeonjun's bedroom. There was a broken vase lying on the floor with crimson spots all over it. That was definitely blood but they still hoped it wasn't.

In conclusion the whole apartment was a mess and there was now sign of yeonjun anywhere. Soobin had now completely lost it.

"Okay WHO THE HELL IS CHOI JINWOO?"

The trio was now settled in yeonjun's living room as taehyun prepared himself to share yeonjun's past love life with the other two. He knew it wasn't his place to say it but right now, when his friend is on the brink of death, was a different situation.

"to put it in simple words, jinwoo is yeonjun hyung's abusive ex"

The two took a while to process the information.

"yeonjun was never the type to date anyone at all during his high school life. He was a transfer student. On his first day, he caught the eye of the talk of the school, Choi jinwoo.

Jinwoo wasn't a delinquent. Infact he was a good student, kept his grades up, was nice and respectful towards his teachers, the other students, not so much. He wasn't exactly rude but he wasn't nice either.

He developed a liking for yeonjun, which slowly turned into an unhealthy obsession. Yeonjun had first rejected him nicely but jinwoo seemed to genuinely take interest in yeonjun so they decided to try going out.

The first few months of their relationship were amazing. They were the perfect high school couple. Some poeple were happy for them, other were envious but it never bothered the two what the people thought of them.

However slowly jinwoo started to get possessive of yeonjun and yeonjun didn't seem entirely comfortable with that" he took a deep breath before continuing

"soon yeonjun slowly started to change. He started keeping distance with people, he started interacting less with others, heck he even stopped talking to us.

Along with his change in behaviour, kai and I also noticed how he would wince if we lightly grabbed his arms, how he would take days off and then excuse himself by saying he was sick.

Whenever we asked to hang out he would look at jinwoo for approval and jinwoo was always be the one who answered for him. No one knew what was going on with them but everyone had an idea.

Another month later, yeonjun didn't show up to school for a week. We called at his home and his parents had no idea where he was. We contacted the police and went to jinwoo's house.

We found him there and I cannot explain what it was like to see him in that state. It was awful I couldn't even look at him. He would've probably bled to death if we didn't reach on time" taehyun was now sobbing

"it took yeonjun a long time to get over jinwoo and what happened to him. I cannot imagine what it must've felt like to see him again." beomgyu was comforting taehyun

Soobin was blaming no one but himself. "I should've noticed how he acted around jinwoo, I should've been more careful, I should've never let him out of my sight, I should've noticed the excuses jinwoo made very time he was at yeonjun's, I should've-"

"hyung it wasn't your fault. Yeonjun hyung probably didn't want to worry you which is why he didn't tell you anything" beomgyu said. He knew his brother, he understood what his expression meant

"but gyu if I was just-"

"he was thankful to have you, you know" this time taehyun spoke up "I could tell by the way he looked at you, he truly loved you. It wasn't your fault in any way. You've done nothing but the best for yeonjun hyung. He just is the type to sacrifice himself instead of letting his loved ones get hurt"

"so how about we stop sulking and start searching" beomgyu said trying to lift up the mood

Soobin nodded before saying "let's inform the police first"
