"How-... How do you do that? When I'm feeling down or sad.. you instantly make it all better." I ask, tilting my head at the man who stands before me.

"I'm magic and that's the power of caring!" He giggles softly. I smile up at the man with the red mario hat he always wears and feel my heart flutter. Everything is perfect. Everything will be okay. I run my hand through my short black hair and stand up, pulling Anthony close and leaning down, brushing my nose against his. Anthony laughs and drapes his arms around my shoulders, running his fingers through my hair. I smile more and lean down capturing his lips with mine. Anthony smiles into the kiss and kisses me back, deepening the kiss. I hold Anthony's waist and then I'm suddenly thrown away from Anthony.

I fall into a nearby table and groan in pain as I close my eyes and reopen them to see the stars shine brightly above.

"MAX!" I hear Anthony yell, then a pained gasp and silence. I pick myself up and look around for Anthony not seeing him anywhere in the large backyard we have.

"Anthony?! Where-... where are you?..." I yell out, feeling my heart pound painfully in my chest and a lump forming in my throat as I assume the worst. I walk around the yard, searching for any clues to where he might have gone, but finding none. I soon call the cops and sit down in the patio chair, tears escaping my eyes and falling from my face.

~2 months later~

It's been two months since my beloved Anthony had gone missing. The police searched everywhere but no trace of Anthony had been found. Everyone has given up, except for me of course. I wander my empty and silent home quickly becoming lonely as I had been for the past 2 months. I sit down on my couch and stare at the coffee table hoping by some miracle Anthony would walk in the door any moment. I sit there a few moments, but no such miracle ever came. I sigh sadly and place my head in my hands, tears rolling down my cheeks. I curl up on the couch and start to sob, my heart clenching painfully inside my chest. Soon I fall asleep and succumb to the nightmares that have haunted me for the past 2 months.

I awake later that night to a sound in the backyard, slowly I get up off the couch and head to the back door. I place my hand on the cool metal of the doorknob, turning it slowly and revealing my backyard covered in little lights and decorations. I gasp in awe at the sight and see someone standing in the middle of it all. I walk towards the figure and soon see it's Anthony. My eyes widen and I rush the rest of the way to him, grabbing him in a hug and pulling him close, happy tears falling down my face.

"It's okay, Max. It's okay Maxy. I'm here now. I'm here." Anthony wraps his arms arounf me protectively and rests his head on my shoulder.

"You were gone... no one could find you... I... I was so worried.. " I whisper, shaking slightly.

"I... I know, Maxy... but.. I won't leave you again. I won't. I promise." I nod my head and hold onto the man I love, not knowing that sharp white teeth in Anthony's mouth glisten in the lights surrounding them; but it wouldn't matter, because Max knew that, no matter what happened, Anthony would never hurt him. That's the power of caring.
