The ball- the girls and the news

A banging on my desk snapped me out of my long train of thoughts on the table of elements.

"Woah, what?" I yawned and set my elbow on the desk, resting my head on my hand.

"Liam says his date should get ready." Niall said sweetly and carried me to my bed.

"Oh.......I hate school." I stated and snuggled into his arms, if I don't belong to anyone, I do what I want with whom I want.

He chuckled, "I wouldn't know."

"What?" I asked.

"I barely paid attention." he clarified.

I closed my eyes and concentrated on his steady breathing.

"PANCAKES!!" Louis screamed and I fell out of his arms and onto the floor in surprise.

"Yes, I know!!" Niall laughed and helped me up.

"I have to get ready as well." Niall left and I ran down the stairs.

"Zayn, is this formal?" I asked and stopped on the last step.

"Semi." he responded, waving his hand back and forth.

I nodded and went back to my room.

After a short, but relieving shower, I took out the white, one shoulder, bat-wing dress and shimmied into it.

I ruffled my pink hair and let it drop to its' natural position.

Since I'd be wearing a mask, I didn't do any eye makeup but put on a simple NARS lip gloss.

I grabbed my shoes, stepped into the light pink flats and smiled at the cute ribbon on the toe.

I slipped on the white and pink mask, marveling again at the price Liam paid for it.

No matter how much I tried not to, I spun around like a little girl as the frills of my dress flew up.

The dress settled above my knees and I giggled as the air I made blew some papers off my desk.

I smiled at my reflection and went to check on Cam.

I caught her spinning in her blue dress and faux black ballet shoes.

"Oh, Jazzmyn!" she stopped and flattened her dress, "I need help with my hair."

I nodded and quickly pulled her hair into a bun, slipping the black, lace, equally expensive mask over her eyes and fixed the dark red lipstck.

We stepped, slowly, down the stairs and laughed at Liam and Zayn, along with the other three.

They wore matching black suits and matching red masks.

"Are our perfect young ladies ready for their first masquerade ball?" Louis quizzed with a smile.

"I believe we are!" Cameron wrung her wrist around Zayns elbow and I did the same with Liam.

"Do you boys have dates?" I looked past Liam and at Harry, Louis and Niall.

"No." Harry stated and looked at Liam with the weirdest expression.

"Nope! Still a single pringle!" Niall said as we boarded the limo.

I nodded and waited for Louis' answer.

But none came.

"Lou?" I asked and he looked at me.

"What?" he asked innocently.

"NO WAY!!! LOUIS HAS A DATE!!" I gawked and Harry poked his arm.

"Nuh-uh!......More like a girlfriend." he mumbled.
