Chapter 11

Hope's anxiety sky rocketed when Josie narrowed her eyes in her direction.

'Damn this is the sequence.'

She takes a deep breath to not show how nervous she is. "Yes."

Hope swears she saw a vein pop out of her wife's forehead. Josie brought a hand to her head rubbing the headache away that she feels like she's getting.

"Why isn't your ring on your finger?" She asks calmly.

"I didn't want to get it smudged or wet-" Hope stopped herself from talking when she seen Josie's breathing getting heavier.

Kol looked at both girls and realized that things might escalate so he's going to let his niece handle this one. "Well I'll see you guys later, love you both but I'm outta here." He says and vamp speeds out of the front door.

"Yeah I guess that's my cue." Ethan says tossing Hope her ring. He's about to make a break for it.

He's stopped when Hope says a spell to stop him from going anywhere. "Oh hell no." She says to him.

She turns back to her wife who's basically seething, her eyes are slowly turning red, she knows it's the hormones going bat shit crazy right now.

She gulps before she says, "I was fixing the sink when that bozo over there made me drop it down the drain babe. I swear it was an accident."

She slides her ring back on her finger, "Yeah an accident." Ethan adds still stuck in his position.

Josie tries to take deep breaths, she closes her eyes trying to calm down.

Hope steps closer to the brunette, a little weary but she can hear her heartbeat slowing down. "Babe?"

"So you weren't taking off your ring to show others that you aren't taken?" She sniffles.

Hope's eyes widen and she looks over at Ethan who's just as surprised as she is.

She turns back to face her wife. "What?" She scoffs. "Why would I do that? Babe I love you, I would never do something like that."

Tears start falling down Josie's face and Hope closes the gap between them, her hands going to the brunette face quickly to wipe them away. "Baby?" She asks worriedly.

Ethan's pants catch on fire and he starts blowing the flame, "Uh Hope I think Josie set me on fire!" He screams in panic.

Hope rolls her eyes and whispers a small spell that shot water out of her hand towards his pants putting the fire out.

He sighs out in relief and it seems like Hope released him from her spell. He falls on the floor, "yeah I'm just gonna-" He doesn't finish his sentence, he just vamp speeds out the door and closes it behind him.

"Fuck I can't stop crying!" Josie yells out in frustration, she wipes her face aggressively until Hope stops her.

"Babe, breathe with me." She says.

Josie nods with tears still streaming down her face, and she tries to copy Hope's breathing pattern.

She shakes her head because it's not working and she thinks she's about to have a panic attack. "H-Hope." She says in a worried voice.

"Close your eyes." Hope says softly as she gives Josie's hands a small squeeze.

Josie does what she says and Hope brings her hands to her mouth, she plants a few kisses on her knuckles before she says,"I'm right here with you baby."

Josie nods and she felt a wave of comfort wash over her. Hope felt the girls tense muscles slightly relax,"Take some deep breaths for me?"

Josie takes a deep inhale and a shuddering exhale. Hope continues planting kisses on her knuckles and she sees that Josie's breathing is finally starting slow down. She intertwines their fingers and caresses her hand with her thumb.
