She was the one
who flew above the clouds
with her wings
made of wood and metal.
Alone in the sky,
only the saints saw her glee.

But they watched her with chagrin,
humiliated by her ability
to do what even they
thought to be impossible.

Again and again
they found themselves
cursing upon the young engineer,
sending thunder and lightning in her way,
but she continued on.

That was how she lived,
persevering through the dangers
that life brought on for her to face.
And she did so again and again.

The saints disagreed with her philosophy.
Believing that
when humans were faced with a challenge,
they should allow their lives
to be overtaken with it.

But as the saints watched her fly
high above her town,
screaming with joy,
they couldn't help
but find themselves
transfixed with her happiness.

And so, slowly,
but surely,
each of the saints in her audience
slowly began to agree with
her bravery and happiness.
