Let's Fall in Love

Let's forget that the sun exists
and wander the streets of New York,
attached at the hip,
laughing as we become drunk
on vodka and happiness.

Let's become lost on the subway,
running around the different stations,
screaming incomprehensible song lyrics
from opposite ends of empty train cars.

Let's stroll Central Park,
exploring each other's history
as we pretend to be nobles from the 1800's,
because back then
love was so much easier.

Let's exchange our 9-5's
for the comfort of each other's warmth
in the early Monday morning,
groaning as we try and
remember each other's names,
giggling as we inhale
stray hair and booze in the other's breath.

Let's experience the idea
that everyone but us
has been able to call 'love'
because tonight I want to fall
harder in love than I ever have
or ever will.

Lets' fall in love for a night,
and if you want,
we can fall in love
every night after that.
